Are you serious ? If that is true along with him telling arthur he has the job, he seriously needs to go. That is very unprofessional, in fact if true it is possible he could be guilty of serious misconduct against the club - he would be acting on behalf of the club without the authority to do so.

So if the board appoints the chairman, can't they just vote sharp out (pushing him out to just an director ) at their board meeting and appoint a new chairman ( from the current directors)?
