As I undersatnd, we have BS as head coach, Muggo as defensive coach, Pay as the forwards coach and JT as our halves coach.

These guys are our specialist coaches, that I am aware of.

You guys, that are closer to the action than me, may know, is there anyone one else, and do they have specific roles ?

Muggo? ....Pay? ......do you mean John Muggleton and Dean Pay?

Do you mean next season?....I don't know of them coming to Parra.....as far as I know Muggleton is defensive coach for the Wallabies (ie Rugby Union) and Pay coaches in the country.

Reddy, JT and Wilson were involved this season.....not sure of their exact titles - I think Reddy is skills coach or something???......Wilson was more of a trainer and conditioning type (in between song writing  )

Sharp is coming next year as assistant coach....and Wilson is apparently leaving (I assume JT will be taking on more of the trainer role Wilason had).

There is also talk/rumours of Daniel Anderson coming....but thats all conjecture at the moment.

yeah.........I thought they were both still involved.

I knew Muggo wnet to help the Wallabies, but its not a full time gig, and I didn't know whether he was still at Parra or not.

I knew about Sharpe and JT for next season, but thought there may have been others as well.

I take it the full coaching staff has not been announced yet.

I think Muggleton is fulltime with the Wobblies.....Pay - I don't think he's been around since he stopped playing for us - I think he had a year helping with teh Roosters didn't he (???).

I reckon come December the exact coaching situation with the Eels should be 100% decided - any later than that and I think we are leaving it a bit late....footy is a 12 month sport now days

Yeh, I still think Anderson will head back to Parramatta and we will see Anderson, Smith and Sharp in the coaching box as of next year.

Hellsy: Haydon is the strength and conditioning coach.

Matt: they would want to hurry up as off season training starts in 6 weeks and I'm sure structures and programs are already in place.

me thinks it won't happen.

I was hearing that Brian was going to take 6 weeks off after mad Monday, to go on a surfing safari with his daughter.

4 weeks of the finals and 2 more weeks makes it between the 18th and the 25th so that is when we will get the announcement, but I know he will be at the club I am still waiting on the position, but I am happy to have him as head coach or coaching director.

it remaind to be seen whether that is the case.

ok!

no announcement by November 1 basically means we're stuck with the same structure with the obvious inclusion of Sharp. I still think it's not going to happen.

Hope not, Keep Smithy there for 1 more year, I think it's our year next year and if so it'll be good to finally see a smile on his face after each game.

Make or break next season. No excuses if we cannot perform. The coaching staff have been underperforming for a while now and changes need to be made if the side cannot deliver next season. I'm yet to be convinced.

I couldnt bear another season with a 45% win record. We need to have a killer season to change my mind about the way I feel for Smith. But just imagine if Smith we to win the Premiership and Fitzy signed him to another 9 year contract. #-o

Smithy's under contract, he'll still be there. As MITS said, that may become a head of coaching/coaching director position, or not. If we're looking at whether Daniel Anderson may be announced as joining the coaching staff, he won't finish his NZ commitments until 27 November, so wouldn't be available until well after our training has started anyway.

But, I'd imagine the training between October and Christmas would focus more on fitness development and individual attributes (in the gym, on the creatine etc) than on actual football or team work? If I was head coach I'd be leaving that stuff until after the new year.

I wonder when Tahu and Stringer will be fully fit from their injuries. I think we need to immediatly get the combinations gelling and making sure our backs get the ball. Smith needs to remember what he did in 2001 and do it again. He has the players to do it.

We always get a really tough first 4/5 rounds....we are notoriously slow starters except for this year when we had a pretty good start being 3/5 and not even that helped us.

Yeah as soon as Dykes got injured it pretty much went all downhill. I think the 2 lock strategy wouldve got us in the 8 if Dykes has been our sole playmaker.

Trouble with a sole playmaker strategy is if they get injured or have an off game you're screwed. We got found out, and the race was over early on.

See Roy Masters' SMH analysis of why Bulldogs were better served by having multiple playmakers in the grand final than the Roosters who went for a forwards only bench. Two locks is and was a dumb strategy for us. #-o
