Perhaps I'm a poor judge and too impatient but I just cant understand what they see in Toutai.

Wonderful news... I believe we're also represented in the kiwi side too but not sure who at the moment

Zach Dockar-Clay and Takai Moeakiola were named in the train-on squad a while ago. Not sure if both of them made the actual team though.

Ok, I'm glad you mentioned it lol...

I believe both made it but not confirmed.

Good stuff. I hope we can hold onto a greater proportion of them that we did with the blokes named last year (which I think included Chad and Fraser).

You're thinking of the Australian Schoolboys team. Picked from blokes still at school.

Junior Kangaroos is under 20s players.

Last year we only had Cheyse Blair in the side. He was also the only one in last year's junior Origin.

This year we had three in junior Origin plus the QLD 18th man. We also have three Junior Kangaroos.

Do you reckon we should have kept Blair?

Can break a tackle, but has defensive issues that make him unsuitable for both wing and centre. Those can be fixed though. Physically he's well up to first grade, and he is certainly on a second tier contract.

Yeh, that sounds right.

I have insufficient information to have a firm opinion on this (I guess I could just make up some shit). If we're paying any more than 20%of his salary, I'd rather have kept him.....but again I have no idea what other reasons the club might (or might not) have for moving him on.

He's probably of an age where he might actually pull his finger out.

Awesome Forty, thanks.

Good to see we've kept the bulk of our Harold Matthews stars. They'll all be 17 next year, so maybe we'll see an appearance in NYC.

Interesting that Fuimaono is still listed in SG Ball. I guess NYC trials will decide whether he stays there for the start of the season, but we have a very strong squad next year.

Also confirmed Jack Morris is still young enough for SG Ball.

And good to see Craig Field making a comeback with kids his own age.

Also noteworthy that our other new recruit, Bevan French has been listed in the SG Ball roster.

Good to see we kept the entire HM spine intact in Tramontana, Dargan, Doolan and Layoun. IIRC there was some noise about the Storm trying to sneak under our guard and steal Layoun.

The senior squad are those players on the cusp of SG ball selection but didn't quite make the squad..

The NYC squad should be final used by midway through next week..

I'm not sure if they are comparatively as strong as the current Penrith NYC squad - which features a number of NRL certainties - but the club must have pretty high expectations for this group of kids given their age group dominance.

There are a few kids there that look like very good prospects and it will be interesting to see if the incoming NYC coach will pull the trigger on fast-tracking them, particularly since nearly all of the spots in our NYC spine have been essentially vacated.

Said I would not need to post again, but I couldn't let this one fly.

Dillon Khoury was the fullback ( and State U16s fullback) for the 2012 HM team.

Layoun was not even in the HM squad in 2012 and I doubt he would be in front Khoury at this stage.

Also Jason Vidal was the 5/8 and captain of the 2012 HM side, so I doubt Doolan will be rated in front of him.

Weren't Doolan and Dargon the grand final winning halves combo?

Recalling Johnny Morris, Craig Field and now Mick Doolan - where will it end for Parra.:D

Please show me where I said that Layoun was ahead of Khoury?

All I said was that it was nice to see the club retain the HM spine, as in the 2013 spine, particularly in the face of (rumoured) poaching from other clubs.

You seem to rate the kids from the 2012 class over those of 2013, all well and good as more competition isn't a bad thing. Whoever proves to be the better players will rise to the top at this bracket.
