Clicky

Alec Bush replaces Joey Lussick, who is presumably injured. There is no utility on the bench so either Bush is expected to play the full 80min this week or the likes of Dockar-Clay or Markus will share the responsibility.

Not sure where to put this, but anyway.

There is another hoppa playing in the local parra district comp.

After the game, Anthony fields was seen talking to him and other players.

Maybe won't be long before another hoppa is in eels colours.

I know there's John Hopoate Jnr who played for Manly in the Harold Mats team and made the NSW Under 16's. The next youngest is Albert who would be 13 or 14 this year.

Btw, I have no idea why a whole team would change districts mid season, but I could only imagine manly would be f**king. Pissed off. Lol

The team was last years Mounties U15 Div 1 championship team, didn't want to stay at Mounties and the coach hauled them over to the Manly comp, which was no good. They have come back in total, spoke to the people at tonight's junior league meeting said it was the best U16 game they have seen. They now play as Fairfield Utd, full of rep players from the Parra Matts side and some that are local juniors but took the cash and went to play for the Bulldogs reps this year.

Apparently we are getting players from other comps coming into the district because of the standard of the comps, we are seeing that from 13s up.

Yes. The game was played at our home ground. 'Twas an excellent game. Some very big lads out there.

Parra have the strongest junior system in all the league.

For those that don't know, the canturbury, balmain, Souths and st George juniors have merged into one comp for 15's and over. I believe it's called the ICCC. I dare say the parra district would be stronger than these clubs combined. I could even be missing a club or two.

One of my co-worker's sons plays in the Eels district for Cabramatta Under 15's Div 1. where a few of our Harold Mats boys came from and she's said that there's really only 3 teams; Cabra, Wenty, and Hills. Hopefully we see better players from other districts to beefen up that comp too.

The problem with the U15 comp is players always go to what they consider are the strong clubs to get the attention of the talent scouts

Been that way for 25 years, there are still 3 divisions where there is good competition, but Div 1 is really hard and tough, if possible the junior league exec need to try and spread the talent to get a more even Div 1. HAs been mentioned at junior league meetings, was brought up again last night

Interesting to hear how the comp is run in Sydney. Interesting the steelers/Illawarra part of the dragons produces a lot of NRL talent yet the junior comps down here a lot more even with talent spread across the sides. Normally they have division 1 and 2 and it is common for south coast sides being better then Illawarra sides ( from about ages 12 to 16 Illawarra and group 7 have a merged comp, which Helensburgh to batemans bay)

Without knowing much about the Sydney juniors I reckon one benefit down here is the comp probably doesn't have a high ratio of Polynesian players thus it gives the smaller players a easier path to develop their abilities.
