De Belin is a pretty good player, on par with Brown. He would look good in the blue and gold.

De Bellend is a humongous merkin of a bloke but he's turned into a bloody good player over the last few seasons. I had him in Origin contention.

Running anywhere the middle of the field is a weakness. T Boob would call him a cat.

Fancy an edge player attacking on an edge....

You'd think that the NRL would have a different journalistic standard than say the Telecrap and refrain from repeating unsubstantiated rumours which can only harm the player, club and the game that they have a stake in.

they are still just journalists

bottom feeders the lot of them

De Belin can play but I still wouldn’t swap him for Brown.

@Poupou Escobar I believe that NRL.com is listing them as off-contract come November because they can officially field and sign offers from rival clubs at that point. Bizarre angle to take because they each have 12 months on their contracts to run at that point but it helps inject some controversy into a time where the Eels are otherwise sailing smoothly.

I was just having a laugh with Twiz mate. We had this argument a couple of days ago. I absolutely consider a player with 12 months to run on his current deal to be ‘off contract’, just like the author of the article.

A bloke without an existing contract is ‘uncontracted’ - distinct from being off contract.

^^^ The fascists let me in !

PARRAMATTA were great in 2017, but they’ll be even better this season. The disappointment felt from their finals exit against the Cowboys last year must be their driving force in 2018. That heartache and learning as a group, coupled with the arrival of several key signings, most notably Jarryd Hayne, leaves the Eels as legitimate top-four hopes.

SPINE

They have the most improved spine in the NRL. Mitchell Moses has made a huge difference to the Eels and so too Corey Norman, who for too long was in charge of steering the side alone. This combination has, understandably, taken time to evolve and, again, I don’t think we’ll see their best footy until mid-year. The Eels will welcome back Clint Gutherson (knee) when he is ready, but with Bevan French and Hayne they have plenty of quality options at fullback.

Mitchell Moses completes a stellar Parramatta spine
BACKS

The concern is the loss of Semi Radradra, who was capable of finding that try from anywhere. However, I’m more than comfortable that the Eels can cover the loss of the flying Fijian with French’s talent and speed.

The return of Hayne isn’t a question mark for me. I only see him producing one of his greatest seasons, thanks largely to a desire to repay Brad Arthur’s faith.

FORWARDS

The blend is perfect with the frightening Manu Ma’u comple-
menting the skill of Tepai Moeroa and Nathan Brown, who is flush with confidence after a stellar 2017.

Mitchell Moses Played plenty of good footy after his transfer from Wests Tigers last season and has had a full pre-season to work on his combination with Corey Norman. The young halfback is in line for a career-best year.
