Either Dylan starts training tomorrow, or we are revealing our new kit tomorrow

Judging by the shirt, I’m going to say kit
Yes, the Macron Rugby linked in the equivalent insta post are kit makers.

The destiny of the Eels is well and truly in Mitch Moses’ hands after Clint Gutherson departure

The departure of Clint Gutherson rips the beating heart from the Parramatta Eels, writes BRENT READ, but it also creates the opportunity Mitch Moses deserves to truly own the team.

Clint Gutherson’s departure from Parramatta has finally been confirmed and he will leave a hole. A massive hole.
Coach Jason Ryles has only been in the role a matter of weeks but he has made a brave call that has the potential to define his tenure at the club.
Gutherson has been the Eels’ beating heart for as long as most can remember. The King played through pain and injury, and never let anyone down.
He was the sort of player you could build a club around and the Eels did that for more than 200 games over close to a decade.

In all that time, you could count his bad games on one hand. Ryles, though, wanted to move in another direction that involved Gutherson being shifted from fullback, a decision that didn’t necessarily sit well with the skipper or his camp.
Some supporters won’t take the decision well either. Yet club powerbrokers at the Eels, who are often a magnet for criticism, backed their coach and for that they deserve credit.
Time will tell whether they made the right decision but Ryles and the club’s hierarchy are clearly on the same page and that is an encouraging early sign.
As one door closes, another also opens. While Gutherson was the Eels’ captain, Mitchell Moses is their best player and he is expected to take over the armband and assume more control.

Any hope of ending a premiership drought that stretches back 40 years will rest in the hands of the talented No.7, who is entering the prime of his footballing life.
He recently turned 30 and is now an Australian halfback. You could mount an argument that only Nathan Cleary is better at the playmaking position.
He missed a chunk of last season and the Eels struggled in his absence. If he can hit the ground running next year, Parramatta will be a different proposition.
They’ll miss Gutherson, but Moses will dictate by how much. Parramatta is now his club. Moses will decide how far they go.

Good read, something had to give and unfortunately the most influential player that we had was moved to enforce the change.

I would imagine other players will have an input as well
NRL Top 17 are basically made up of 20% (basically 3-4 players) "result influencers" and the 80% "role players", who are just good players in great teams and average players in shit teams. The difference between the great teams and the shit teams is the number of result influencers. A team will only be bottom 4 with just 100% role players!

In my view, up until 2022, we had 4 result influencers. Moses, Gutho, Paulo and RCG. The rest were all just role players. I think RCG probably regressed over the last two years where he is now no longer a result influence. Gutho is still a result influencer, and we've just let that walk out the door. Paulo regressed over the last two years to no longer being a result influencer. That needs to change in 2025.

That leaves Moses as currently the only result influencer left, and you can't just run around with one result influencer in your team....this is what we had from 2011-2014 in The Plane. Others (Drown) will have to step up to become result influencers if we're any chance. You can argue with his 2024 season that we have bought a potential result influencer in Lomax, but I'd still call him as on the fringe at this stage.

I'm not sure where the new result influencers from within the squad will come, but I'm hoping a new coaching regime can change that.

NRL 2025: Three clubs meet with Terrell May, Eels’ Talagi coup, Panther’s premiership ink | Saint, sinner, shoosh

Sydney Roosters prop Terrell May is a man in demand after being told he was free to leave, the Eels have had a massive win, and Storm legend Craig Smith has his premiership ring again. All that and more in Saint, Sinner, Shoosh.

RYLES’ TALAGI COUP
Parramatta coach Jason Ryles has scored one of his biggest wins yet after convincing Australian schoolboys prop Ryda Talagi — younger brother of recently departed utility Blaize Talagi — to sign a new deal at the club.
There were genuine concerns at the Eels that Ryda would be lost to the club after his brother Blaize, a contender for rookie of the year last season after scoring 11 tries in 19 games, was lured to Penrith to play alongside Panthers star Nathan Cleary in the halves.
Ryda, who came off the bench for the Australian schoolboys against France and Papua New Guinea last month, was also in the sights of rivals.

While Blaize couldn’t resist the opportunity to play and learn off Cleary, Ryda was convinced to stay and play his part in the Ryles revolution.
Ryda is one of a number of young stars who are emerging through the Eels system.
Richard Penisini, the younger brother of centre Will, will be on a development contract this season before being elevated to the top 30 in 2026.
