We extended Lane for an extra 3 years (so it wasn't a 4 year deal) after he was the club's player of the year, playing at Origin-quality throughout the year and helping us get to the GF.

His form at the time warranted an extension. His final year I believe is a mutual option, so we will possibly be paying him less under the cap than this year if the club chooses not to take up their end of the option.

He's been shit since 2022, but has had some awful luck with injuries. Hopefully his lazy tendencies will disaappear this season so he will hope the club takes up the option.
