Eels in the Media thread - has the above stat been in the media of late?

Or is it just another #Poutangent derailing topical discussion in yet another thread?

Reader, you be the judge...
Maybe it's time for you to be obsessed with @Pazza as well? Surely there's room in your tiny heart for one more.

ba - no wonder leeds want to give him ten years

Anyway, Eels getting rid of Player Options is in the media again... and have been on the nose since May 2023.

Beach, in his first public address since succeeding previous chairman Sean McElduff, added: “This is a really important topic. There are three additional points I’d like to make more broadly in relation to player options.

“The first point is we haven’t entered into a player contract that has an option for about two years; May 2023 was the last time we entered into a contract with a player option.

“Point two, since that time we’ve signed or retained 22 to 24 players since [then] without issuing player options.

“Thirdly, we will not be issuing player options going forward.”

The last comment was met with a round of applause from the Eels faithful.

Dunno if Foran is really an “Eel in the media”
His stint was so short and so long ago

I almost forget he was an Eel on some occasions. Bulldogs he was a bigger flop. And he also played for the warriors.

At least we got Moses 12 months later out of it.

Imagine being stuck with Foran for 4 years on a million with options and clauses coming out of his arsehole.

Hasler has been playing injury prone/old man money ball with him for 15 years. Problem is he’s an expensive, high maintenance crock.

Cleary had a worse record after 258 games. He didn't let it stop him.

He has had 4 different coaching stints.

Warriors most successful period in their history was under Ivan.

Tigers 9th -Best finish in 10+yrs

Penrith 5 grand final and 4 titles - Best in history of game

His only failure was his first stint at Penrith. I think he managed a top 4 spot but failed in other seasons.

Yeah but he had to deal with Gus's interference and only returned with no Gus.

Deflect what? Are you saying 52% win rate after 200+ games is the sign of a shit coach?

BA isn't a shit coach at all. He is your standard run of the mill average coach. Similar to most NRL coaches tbh.
But he lacked ideas and foresight. When every club was looking for smaller and faster forwards he was signing Grieg,Ogden,Jnr, Lane.
