He has had 4 different coaching stints.

Warriors most successful period in their history was under Ivan.

Tigers 9th -Best finish in 10+yrs

Penrith 5 grand final and 4 titles - Best in history of game

His only failure was his first stint at Penrith. I think he managed a top 4 spot but failed in other seasons.
Ivan got Penrith to a preliminary final in 2014.

And they beat the Minor premiers in week 1 that final series.

BA couldn't do that and he had 5 cracks at it.

2015 Ivan got sacked off the back of a big injury crisis and Gus delayed the dynasty by signing Griffin.

They were minor premiers and made the grand final three years before he took over as coach. This was back when they had half the Kiwi side. These days they all get poached by the rest of the NRL clubs, usually while still at school. The Warriors had huge advantages 20 years ago.

He was so great at all these clubs yet didn't even win half his games until his second stint at Penrith.

BA isn't a shit coach at all. He is your standard run of the mill average coach. Similar to most NRL coaches tbh.
But he lacked ideas and foresight. When every club was looking for smaller and faster forwards he was signing Grieg,Ogden,Jnr, Lane.
Those merkins got us into the finals every year.

It's Hands, he is still very inexperienced ....Ready on one of his many media segments (can't remember which one or wouId have posted it), mentioned something along the lines, Ryles, initially thought we need to sign an experienced hooker (thus our interest in Brailey). But after getting a look at Hands/doing the preseason, it's not as high as a priority. Is pretty content with what we have at this stage.

I thought Hands was sneaky good in the trials in limited minutes. No qualms with him starting at all but am keen to see Riley get a shot through the year.

Just very interested what Ryles plans for 14 are for round 1.
