Eels Negotiating With Carl Webb?

Why can't Knowles get our current players such as Mateo fit?

That's the culture Daniel Anderson is changing. Has obviously caused a lot of upset as he pushed ahead in raising the bar. That culture has obviously blossomed quickly under the auspice of Michael Hagan. Don't think Brian Smith would have dropped the height of the bar.... It seems that Hagan is the culprit. The future of Parramatta Eels is in great hands. In Daniel Anderson I support 110%.

Well said. I would smack those idiotic people who want Ando out.

Gee, we've stooped so low that we're now considering a fat, obese has-been. Someone slap me in the face and tell me it's all a nightmare and that we're now safely on the way to a minor premiership...

you just got to look at someone like Mason, had it on easy street at the roosters until a new coach wanted him out, nobody wanted him. Probably cowboys best player this year along with scott and bolton

And look at how the Roosters are going compared to the Cowboys. I doubt Brian Smith regrets his decision to axe him.

That isn't at all to do with Mason. Looking at how well he is playing for the Cowboys, I bet Brian Smith is probably thinking 'gee I f**ked up', but then he remembers he has Mose Maseo, and he is happy.

More like Brian Smith got rid of the deadwood and players that didn't support his culture, and they've done this well because of it. Whereas Mason is playing well in a poorly performing team as he's no longer playing in the scrutiny of the Sydney media and is playing under a coach who seems to let his players get away with murder.

Yeah I agree with that, but still, even in an under-performing side Mason has been Origin-quality. Really strange that he wasn't picked for NSW, considering his form early in the season.

True. But let's face NSW have a stack of back rowers, and ignore most of the better ones due to selectors arrogance and arguments between themselves.

Received a phone call from a mate who said tomorrows Sunday Telegraph mentions Eels negotiating with Carl Webb....

If true, Carl would be an ideal replacement for Nathan Cayless... BUT.... it will require a master psychologist to bring the best out of Carl week in week out and Daniel Anderson would be that type of coach who will not take any bullsh*t from Carl while inspiring Carl to do what he is good at, at the best of his ability. Carl has a lot to prove, will come come reasonably cheap and if he pulls his head together (including diet) and trains according to Craig Knowles, Daniel Anderson & co's standards, Carl could be one of those late starters who finally pulls his sh*t together and be that indomitable FORCE up front.

So do we sign Webb for 6 or 12 months?

I think alot of people are forgeting that he would be a very cheap buy, like a few are saying if Ando kicks him into gear he would be very damaging for the 15mins before halftime and 15 after halftime. I would take him due to not being expensive and with Knowles training and Ando's not taking s**t attitude would get him into his best form.

Exactly. Would be a great buy, because Anderson and Knowles would definitely be able to get the best out of him (which is GREAT!).

What makes everyone think he will come cheap? He'll probably be offered a decent retirement package in the UK.

I'm pretty sure he would be cheap because he is hopeless, old and past his best. Our management wouldn't be silly enough to waste big money on him.
