given that the 50K would be going to the Warriors and not Thomas, I don't see why it should count under the cap at all.

Because it is :D

also when Parra were shopping Lyon around asking for a 300K release fee had a team bitten then they would have needed to find 300k + whatever they would've paid Lyon under their cap.

Which is one of the big reasons no one took him.

I honestly couldn't care whether we get him or not. What I've seen of him has not impressed me in the slightests. So he's a test player  If Michael Witt was a Kiwi he'd be playing test footy too but I don't see too many people in here concerned about him leaving for Manly. Geez if Craig Field was a Kiwi he'd be playing test footy. NZ are desperate for halves. Hopefully if we get him it will be for back up only because I've seen alot more potential in Tim Smith than this guy.

this is getting ridiculous???

it will be Christmas soon and we are still "trying" to sign players, they should all be at the club and signed and settled before then, especially high profile signings like this, however it does appear that the warriors are the ones causing the problems

I find it pretty ridiculous to. But IMO if he isnt signed straight after the Tri Nations he wont come. I was a bit hesistant about Leuleui but I want to see PJ on the bench.

True, True. ;-) However being as Leuluai is playing in the Tests its likely (seeing as Hindy will do the same) he wouldn't be joining us until they come back from the Xmas break in January. If it doesn't happen by then I'd be worried if he does sign and is given first crack at the 7.

Well in 2003 Darren Treacy and Willie Leyshon wern't signed till July :D
and in 2004 Luke O'Dwyer wasn't signed until after the 1st couple of trials.

but as Colonel said as Leuluai is playing in the Tri Nations it doesn't surprise me that he hasn't been signed yet but I'm thinking 2 weeks after he gets back home would be max time before an annoucment is made.
