Ive noticed you say that alot when it comes to Orford.

How do you know for sure?

Also you said it about Barret and Kimmorley.

Don't think I have seen Jodeci ever provide incorrect info. If he says he is not coming I would happy to bet on it

Webb, Maitua, Orford - Why doesn't Osborne have a shot at Beaver Menzies as well?! No one will stop us in our quest for the 2004 Premiership...

Im sure he would have gone for Menzies, but Menzies announced he will NOT be coming back to the NRL and that its not an option.

if we pare going to pay a transfer fee, we must be flush with cash, no need to sell off assets then.

I hope it says in his contract that anything short of a grand final appearance and he will be offloaded quicker than you can say Danial Anderson.

There are some brave souls on here, perhaps we can be enlightened who is available that would improve the side. The obvious no 7s that are out there, and why they would come cheap, give me a break, this is the real world , with managers and competitors and a market place.

So the Dogs paid $400+ for Pritchard, $270 for Hodko etc, not sure I agree with their recruiting eother.

If Mr Anderson cant solve the problem of the Parramatta half back having to make 40 tackles a game it wont matter who wears the number 7.

Wasn't the Parramatta half back playing left side defence inside Feleti, may go some way to explaining the number of tackles . Just a thought

Yet anderson the genius couldn't work out to move one of them to the right side

Recruited in numbers, bound that a few will pay off.

I agree, payed way too much for hodko (foran is the better half at manly by a country mile), and also bought keating and wright who imo are fringe first graders at best. They r hardly match winners. Eastwood and Pritchard are solid buys though.

Dont forget they r losing kimmorley and hannant ( 2 of the better players in the competition for their respective positions)

exactly.. people are whinging about our recruitment.
However i feel we are correct in doing what we have, bought 2 players on the cheap.
We are not paying overs for over rated players. Eg; Pritchard, Hodgo etc.

There is a drought on good number 7's on the market, the ones we are linked to are the better ones (minus sherwin)

If there was one player i wish we got it would have been beau henry - he went to the knights.

And the same as my thinking, really our forwards haven't lost us a game this year they have been good. Our backs are ok. It is the halves which suck.

Also on Beau Henry, we have picked up Murray who has been as good as him this year. Also I saw Beau at the group 7 grand final on Sunday and I can tell you he isn't that solid, would say he would need a very good off-season to be able to last a full year in the NRL.

We don't really need to sign that many players.
1 half is all we need. With our backline and our forward back, we should do quite well. We don't need a superstar. We already have one in Hayne.

We just need someone who will have some structure and composure and will wins us the games we keep throwing away.

Then we can rely on Hayne and co. to get us over the line for some of the other games. Consistency has been our biggest problem. We've always been capacble of putting a great run together like 2006 and 2009.

I reckon Orford could be this man.

Orford's not going to embarrass himself by trying to play alongside speds like Mortimer.

Keep dreaming Eels fans.

If Matt Orford doesnt sign and we dont have another half back option for 2011...then we are bottom 4 specials for 2011....He is the be all and end all of everything than can and might happen at this club in 2011
