Eels review

Really enjoyed the game. Obviously we are really missing Manu and Ropati big time.

Logan Swann had a shocker. If he passed instead of dummying that could have been the game right there.

and then he gives away the penalty that gets the eels down our end where they eventualy score.

I don't think 2007 is going to be our year, but it's just great to be invloved in finals footy. We may get lucky, and get a game next week but I think we will be making up the numbers based on that performance.

The Eels may be a threat to the grand final.. don't think they have it in them to win the comp though. They were gutsy, but very poor on attack.

Disappointing; a tough loss.

I just hope we get at least one more game next week. It would be against the winner of the Cowboys/Bulldogs clash at their home ground.

Obviously we need two of NQ, Manly and Melbourne to win.

In 24 hours, we might know our fate one way or the other. I don't see Melbourne losing.

Ah Van just lost the ball at inopportune times.

Crockett has been exposed defensively for the past few weeks.

We don't have a winger!

I didn't think Crockett was too bad. Didn't make any real mistakes except for a knock on a Wiki offload that hit the ground. Ah van was average, knocked on the bomb that lead to one of their tries and again in the corner going for the winner...even though there was a bit of a hand in there. Meh, don't think our wingers were really our biggest concearn.

I got no complaints, tough game, hard to watch at times but someones got to lose one like that. There was the odd brain explosion here n there, by both sides, but that's the way it goes. And unfortunately you can't get bonus points for your top line players out injured (Or the Broncos would be up for a few!!!).
A heartbreaker- but hopefully some freak upsets won't happen and they'll get another all or nothing chance next week.
At least Mckinnon cheered me up after the game when he started his interview. That guy hates to lose, no doubt about that

Surely that was a 2 man strip on Ah Van and then Finch must have knocked the ball on near full time. 2 huge calls not swinging the way of the Warriors.

But, if the Warriors are not going to get a try after having 6 consecutive sets camped on the Eel's line, then we weren't really taken matters into our own hands.

Loved Wade's blow up, get that up ya, Sky. And who enjoyed the Aussie Channel 9 commentary, made a huge difference.

I just pray we get another chance. Dogs or Cowboys away will be the match-up. We'll give it another good shake.

Obviously we need two of the Cowboys, Manly, and Melbourne to win for us to stay in the competition.

Yeah, I have forgot in typical one eyed fashion to tip the hat to the Eels defence. That was amazing to be camped on their line and not see them cave. Bastards broke my heart, but I begrudgingly give them credit for it.

Didn't Rovelli just crumble at the end there? I thought he was having a good game, then it all just fell apart. There was some great kicks by both Rovelli and Witt.

I can't believe Fien didn't get a 40/20, but both were great attempts though. It's the little things like that, that really hurt you.

Ah Van knock ons, Swanns go it alone and Witts missed goal were the stand out mistakes by us for me. Fingers crossed the gods are with us for the next 3 games.

It was like an old school Warriors game... front row stepping up, rest of the team solid, two players making dodgy errors.

That really stings that one. Particularly given the first half we were so ordinary, and just kept dropping the ball... and it was still 0-0. Up until the Logan-gate moment, we were rolling like the Titanic serenely... without hiccup, and then the Logan iceberg came up. That was bewildering. Absolutely staggering. Finals series match, and you choose the selfish, dumb option. You play the selfish game, instead of the team game, with 29,000 fans waiting... where a win would give you another home game, and another golden chance for the game to build on it's success in New Zealand. Instead, we lose, and the press will get negative, positive on the All Blacks, and all the good work of marketing this game gets twist turned upside down.

On one player's play.

Even Pricey mentioned it during the post match interview....can tell he wasn;t to happy about it.

And you could tell Wade wasn't to happy about anything!

"f**ken oath I'm not.....oh sh*t are we on telly!?"

McIvor-"Yes...blah blah blah?"

"Yeah we didn't play that well....f**ken..mumble"

Someone please upload that to youtube:lol:

Great effort in defence by Eels or again average attack within the 20m from the Warriors?(again)
Poor choices by the Warriors, Swans try attempt, Witt passing to Luck on tackle zero!
If that was a penalty try, that makes it a professional foul = sin bin! But not the way the Aussie commentators looking at it over here!

Again the ref didn't help the cause, but after 25 rounds we must be use to that!
How can Price forward when facing backwards without throwing the ball over his head?

Teams don't need to worry about the Warriors when they get inside their 20m, they are more scarey outside of the 20m!

Hope the experience for the young guys helps them for future.

I thought they just mentally collapsed after that second try/conversion...which after the intense game I kinda expected. Lifted again after the penalty try, but just wasn't enough time to do anything other than hail mary it.

I think the big home crowd worked against us tonight. the guys had massive stage fright tonight and it caused them to do werid things. swann and not passing with 2 guys outside him. all year he would have passed that without thinking but tonight he decides to go for the glory. ah van also I think could have passed it on the inside instead of going for the tryline. one word describes the boys performance tonight selfish. hopefully we can play next week and I think we will play better without the home crowd
