PARRAMATTA will unleash seven new signings in its first rugby league trial match against the Sharks in Lismore on February 5.

Head coach Brian Smith today named a 20-man squad which includes seven of their eight off season gains.

Former Queensland hooker PJ Marsh will play his first game in three years for the club, making his return to the Eels after a couple of seasons with the Warriors.

Wearing the Eels colours for the first time will be boom signings Mark Riddell, Timana Tahu, Ian Henderson, Paul Stringer, Henry Perenara and Glenn Morrison.

Parramatta: Wade McKinnon, Ash Graham, Luke Burt, Daniel Wagon, Eric Grothe, John Morris, PJ Marsh, Adam Peek, Mark Riddell, Aaron Cannings, Nathan Cayless, Josh Cordoba, Dean Widders. Inter: Tim Smith, Timana Tahu, Ian Henderson, Paul Stringer, Henry Perenara, Michael Vella, Glenn Morrison.

that backline isn't going to strike much fear into other teams.
I hope for Parra fans that Smith is just playing around with ideas and doesn't plan on keeping it that way or think that's his strongest line up for the backs.

Who knows what Brian Smith ever thinks.

Its a TRIAL match. Two more after this one and no doubt a lot of tinkering in between before the first round. Extremely unlikely that Morrison and Tahu will start the season off the bench..... ;-)

Five of the seven new signings are named on the bench, interesting. I know it's early days but I wonder how they feel about that? Especially Tahu and Morrison......

Morrison won't want to play the trials anyway, they get no T.V coverage so the SOO selectors won't see him

Interesting forward pack, there are four props and no second rowers. I hope they dont stick with it for the real games.

If they use the team that they are using against the sharks (or one similar to that) then Wests Tigers will push them over like a cardboard cutout
