Who knows I guess?

The footage on FoxSports shows Fui went over, but did Fats?

I say good luck to whoever plays.
I'm wondering though, if Fui is a late inclusion, I wonder who would be dropped?

I like our coach, devious.

Not devious boxy - coaches do this all the time. It is different to a home game where players can be called up at short notice, but if something happens in NZ at training or warmups - then you are seriously stuffed without backup.

I read somewhere that Carl Webb had a dodgy hammy and was in doubt.

My theory is SK through defense will go for a grinding game to frustrate the warriors into error. The trials against Penrith & Tigers indicated that an all out blanket approach to defense is what's planned for the early rounds. The boys are fit enough to do this for 80 minutes. If the defence holds out the Warriors, then confidence will grow and the Eels will get over the Warriors late in the game, including before halftime .

This is the game for Webb to make his stand, to let everyone know that he is back better (more disciplined but still intense) than 2005. Can he do it? Please..... Please..... Please....

Maybe Ben Smith is there to cover any possible issue in the backline. If left or right side starts leaking points, Ben will be used to plug the hole. To cover injuries Matthew Keating can play, lock, second row, or hooker and Maguire could be moved to 6 or 7 if necessary. Shack to cover prop & 2nd row.

In attack they might keep it very simple by directing most of their attack right up the middle of the Warriors pack and occasionally swing it out to Hayne two passes from the ruck. I predict they'll be kicking early in their tackle counts and try to keep the Warriors down their end of the field.

Similar tactics to what Brian Smith did to the Broncos successfully a few times between 2000 and 2005.

This is exactly the gameplan I hope they don't try. Attacking football is our go. Fair enough defend well but playing exclusively up the middle is what we tried at the start of last season and it doesn't work for this team. Unless they get some decoys and bodies in motion inside and the forwards look for offloads and passes at the line, they will not succeed.

I disagree.

taking fui over as backup is not devious but trying to sneak him into nz without anyone knowing definitely is :D

At whose expense, PF?

If Fui plays SK might keep the bench and drop one of the centers, more than likely the new kid on the block Ryan Morgan. If Walker is not 100% then he will be cut from the 17. We have versatile players that can cover various positions, Maguire, Keating, Robson, Mortimer and then we have Smith, Horo & Lasalo to cover the centers. I guess Horo could be used to mark up on the beast to shut him down, be in his face, a real honey beaver nuisance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c81bcjyfn6U - Even in the air Horo can jump and break the beasts wind.

Mortimer & Robson should not be moved unless injuries occur. Keating could be used at 2nd row or lock or even in the centers too. He is a strong defensive unit who can quickly shift laterally either way and has some speed. If it is true and all the boys are fitter than ever before then we have more options opening up for us during this game.

I like the idea of Webb, Fui, Mannah, Allgood taking it up, backed up by Shacks, Smith, Lasalo, Hindy and Hayne 2nd pass from the ruck or getting an offload inside/outside from a prop. If there is structure then I guess they will work up the middle and turn the ball in or out at the line with short passes until they break open Warriors defensive line, then ENTERS maestro Hayne or a Mortimer, Robson, Maguire bursting through with support either side.

1 Jarryd Hayne
2 Luke Burt
3 Fats (if he is in NZ) or ???? Maybe still Walker (hope not - but very happy to be proven wrong)
4 Justin Horo
5 Etu Uaisele (still concerned about Etu but SK is confident in him
6 Daniel Mortimer
7 Jeff Robson
8 Tim Mannah
9 Casey McGuire
10 Mitchell Allgood
11 Shane Shackleton
12 Taniela Lasalo
13 http://www.parraeels.com.au/default...-display&id=3591&player=Justin-Horo&team=EelsNathan Hindmarsh (in 11 jumper)

14 Matt Keating
15 Fui Fui Moi Moi
16 Ben Smith
17 Carl Webb

The centers and Etu are still my biggest concern.
Burt will be fine.
If we play to our strengths it will be an 80 minute defensive effort with a sprinkling of magical moments as they present, backed up by Burt kicking penalties from within 40 meters. Well that's my $2.20 worth.

Well if Fui does play hope he comes in for Ben Smith. Smith is an effective defender but is not an impact player off the bench.

Surely if Fui is fit to play, Allgood will get the tap on the shoulder. There is no feasible way you would drop a back (with which we have very limited supplies) for an out-and-out prop.

Carl Webb should get the tap. He got pulled off the field after only 5 minutes in the Panthers trial due to some kind of leg injury did he not?
