All this recent commotion about Jamie and his future and the team and the artciles on how weak our right hand side defence is got me thinking.

At the present moment, all we have are patch-up temporary solutions. We are unaware if Jamie will return; we have injured stars returning shortly to possibly help toughen up that side.

But I thought the best way (at least temporarily) to help that right hand side defence is to place Hindmarsh there.

I am aware that his presence will be missed in the second row, however:

* He's got great attack and defense

* He's an 80 minute player

* He's inspirational

* He's got speed and can break tackles

Then we could move Armit into the number 11 and bring in Kaufusi or someone to fill in the vacant prop position.

It will probably not happen, but I just thought it would be a wiser option thna putting Langi there or Petersen in the centres.

Nathan's presence all over the park is more important than our right side at the moment.

He is however a great attacking and inspirational player and can handle the position without any fuss, but because of his size! I believe his agility and stamina may suffer late in the game especially when his opposite a Luke Lewis, Kurt Gidley or Mark Gasnier.

True.

Another option I think would be worthy would be what a lot of people have suggested - Wagon in the number three.

Wagon offers a big Doughnut!! in attack i would much rather Hindy however it's a position where Hopkins and Muckett can handle as well both have size and a bit of speed..it's a shame because if we had this problem about 2 years down the track I'm sure we can easilly slot Dealany, Lantry, McCougan and Ben Smith there.

I mean it's hard.

We need an 80 minute player with:

* Strong defence and attack

* Agility

* Speed

I would have Lyon, then Graham and then I am out of ideas.

I think you've nailed it with the last bloke you mentioned! forget about "killer" his gonski, however Ash Graham is the man for the job and no doub't a future star. but unfortunatly probably won't be ready for NRL footy for about 3 weeks if all goes well.

If Killer doesn't come back, I think either Graham or O'Dwyer will be candidates to fill the spot for a long time to come.

i've long suggested hindy to play centre for rep teams, but geez what he does for parra is so perfect... do we really wanna mess with that?

Totally agree. Hindmarsh is playing so well in the second row at the moment it would be crazy to move him. If Lyon does not return then Graham can move into the centres for the rest of the year, with the option of getting a specialist centre into the side next yr.

Perhaps I was not too clear in my haste to erect this topic.

I didn't mean putting him there permanently, heavens no. I meant it as a short-term solution until Graham (or whoever is fit enough to fill the gap) returns.

Alright..... perhaps IM completely off the ball but now we are experimenting .... and really thinking outside the square

How about playing Micky vella there.

Remember- Mick played schoolboy fullback and winger and originally came to the club as a Fullback so would know the positions
Also has the speed and size to play there
Perhaps if he wasnt worn out by being smashed running into people like Morley he would go well. Can you imagine him wide running at people like Sherwin or Slater ??

before you dismiss me as totally off the ball - look what the bullscum are doing with Sonny Bill Williams ? - A forward playing in the centre

Anyway with Vella out of the way we can bring another forward up - and it certainly stays with what BS wants - a BIG team...

Losing Vella from the front row wouldn't be as much of a loss as Hindmarsh would. His defence would be good out there but i'm not sure if his ball playing skills are good enough, speed isn't bad but he is a little too predictable for the backline
