El Masri for Origin 2?

I'm a roosters supporter, so I'm not all that keen on doggies players, but am I the only one who thinks El Masri should be playing Origin? The guy has a fantastic attacking record, he scores tries every where and is the best kicker in the comp! Having him in the side would almost guarantee 6 points for every try, no matter where it was scored... Ftizy's great, but El Masri is like Wilkinson!
To put it into perspective, if we had him last week we would have won!

Would we? Would he have been able to scoot down the sideline like Kingy to set up Buderus?

I agree that he's a good player who wouldnt look out of place but it's hard to find him a spot after the two wingers performed well in Game 1.

yep - you'd be just about the only one....

El Masri isn't even worth a mention in the context of Rooney and King. Fitzgibbon didn't have hi best game kicking wise, but he's fine

Thing is, he's actually a heavily underrated but brilliant attacking player... and you'd have to say that if that hack Kimmorley is gonna get another shot in game 2, then El Masri certainly deserves a chance too.

I agree with you 100%. El Masri has been the FORM winger of the competition, is sensational in defence, one of the best under the high back in defence and attack -and is also the WORLDS BEST KICKER! Give him a shot I say!!

why would you drop Rooney or King - King was outstanding, and Rooney just never plays badly...

I guess you'll be looking for Anasta and Sherwin to be in too, and a Hughes brother??

Don't be silly. Why wouldn't you pick the FORM winger of the competition in the first place?

I agree that he wouldn't look out of place and has worked hard enough on his game to improve it to a level where he is ready for the rep games. But in saying that who would you want dropped for Game 2?

If they plan on keeping Kimmorley, after playing the worst game I have ever seen from him, what chance do you think El Masri will have?

I can only see injury to the established guy before he would get a look in and I don't think he would be the first one they would give the call up to. I think they would look to a player with the physical presense of Grothe instead.

And I know that, at times, it doesnt matter how small a player is but don't forget that you wouldnt have gotten Halligan all those years ago if Peter Louis didn't think Halligan had the right body type to play in 1st grade.

With the NSW forward lacking genuine size and grunt I think we need the big barging wingers but agree that El Masri would not look out of place if we had the right forward pack.

As a Bulldogs supporter I'd like to see El Masri get a run, however if I was a selector there is no way I would even consider dropping King or Rooney for game two.

Rooney's never put a foot wrong in rep football and deserves his spot - and quite simply is a better player than El Masri

As for King - there is a long history of picking centres on the wing for NSW - ET, McGaw, O'Connor etc, and King has played a lot on the wing, and is just red hot at the moment - while El masri is in good form, and a decent player, he'd only get picked because of his kicking, and quite simply I don't see the need for it

I can't really justify them dropping any of the wingers. They've also played well and have no reason to be dropped. The only reason I could see is for his goal kicking. Fitzy is a good goal kicker, but being a forward...he isn't on the field at all times to kick the goals.

Red hot form and 2 tries down on El Masri. El Masri has scored 9 in his last 6 games. Please explain?
