Eli Manning will be the highest paid NFL player ever!!
Don't know what the terms are or the number of years.

Will probably be a 6-year deal.

Its a good move as he's a potential Superbowl winning QB every year if the quality is around him. He could do with a big-play receiver tough. Preferrably one that doesn't shoot himself in nightclubs...

haha, Eli isnt even in the top 5 QB's in the league. The Giants are a team that have arguably the best running game in the league and a defensive line that causes chaos in the backfield. So yes i guess he does need the quality around him.

Every QB needs the quality around him to win a Superbowl.

Ask Marino or Eli's brother.

But that doesn't change the fact that Eli has proven himself last year, and this year but for one bad game last week, to be a quality no.1 QB for the next decade. Which is the most valuable commodity for any franchise.

So i would expect Rivers and Roethlisberger to receive similar deals whenever their next extension comes up.

I could see the Vikings offering him that much, they are desperate for a SB right now while they have the talent.

eli needs a big reciever. he missed plaxico burress.

TJ Houshmandzadeh is a free agent this year. wouldnt be suprised if they looked at him.

he also need to learn to throw it in the wind. he has troubles with the wind.

Rivers will get a fat contract. but there are bigger fish to fry in san diego ATM. namely what to do at running back.

Rivers is pretty much an overrated hack. Would prefer any starting QB in the league except Jason Campbell, David Garrard and JaMarcus Russell. Heck, I'd even prefer Tavaris Jackson than that sh*tkicker.

LOL

Didn't Rivers have the best QB rating in the league this year? Not to mention the best TD/Int ratio.

He had an awesome year and was robbed of a Pro Bowl due to everyones favourite publicity whore Brett Favre getting in.

How did you come to that conclusion?

I'm sure the Vikes would not think twice about that trade!

When I post this thread I was listening to WFAN on New York radio, so it's a bit disjointed but this is what was basically said.

The Commentator is a Jets fan.
Boomer has some good points.

I'm listening to WFAN in New York @ 8:30 PM and they have said Eli will be offered $120 mill. Highest paid in the NFL.
Boomer Esiason is on the radio and he is putting up a real good defense for Eli.
Boomer is making mention of Big Bens numbers are not that good and the other commentator is saying Eli is not worth it because he doesn't have big numbers compared to Peyton. The commentator doesn't respond to the Big Ben question.
Boomer is saying Eli has won a Super Bowl , the next year he lead the Giants to a 12-4 record and an NFC East Championship,so you have to pay up.
Boomer is saying that being a QB is very hard and to win a SuperBowl is even harder, the commentator is throwing up the Trent Dilfer comment about the defense won the game in the Super Bowl, Boomer is saying bullsh*t.
Boomer is constantly arguing with the commentator with regard to the Eli and the QB position.
The commentator is calling Eli an average QB and Boomer is saying Eli had to come from behind in the Super Bowl twice, threw 2TD's and that Trent only had to hand off to a RB.
The Commentator said Eli only threw 20 TD's this year and Boomer is asking how many TD's did Troy Aikman throw for 20 TD's in a year? The answer is once. A Hall of Famer.

There was more but this is all I could type before they finished.
It was an interesting conversation to listen to Boomer's comments a former NFL QB.

Eli has done the right stuff, and he is in the right location to get that kind of money.

Rivers will be just behind him in money value, but worth every cent to the Bolts.

Jason Campbell over Rivers???? Obviously not a Redskin fan then.

LOL@Giants.

I honestly don't rate that highly, imo he's not much btter then a Ben Rotheslbeger ( spelling), solid ad a good player, but hardly elite.

I understand what you are saying about being "Elite"
To me Peyton is the only Elite QB in the NFL.
He has played his entire career on a team where "HE IS THE MAN" to win a game.
He hasn't had the defence to back him up like: Superbowl winners.
2000.Trent Dilfer, defence scored 2 TD's 5 INT's
2001.Brady won by 3 points. Defence ? Brady didn't exactly light it up?
2002. Brad Johnson. Defence scored 3 TD's
2003. Brady won by 3 points. Defence? Brady didn't exactly light it up?
2004 Brady won on a kick. 3 points. McNabb puked?
2005 Ben won with a 22 QB rating. Defence.
2006 Peyton, raining, solid passing, good running, good defence, Opposition QB Rex Grossman
2007 Eli playing the 18-0 Pats, best team in NFL history? Only QB to through 2 TD's in the 4th qtr to win the Superbowl. The defence did a great job but they didn't dominate like the Ravens did.

I know Brady has had some good statically games and won 3 SB's but Peyton has had to score more points than the opposition.
Whose fault is that?
I think its Peyton's. Just Like it will be Eli's.
Peyton should have taken a pay cut like Brady did to build a defence and surround yourself with good/solid players.
If Eli hog ties the Giants with a huge contract he will be in trouble.
