Bugger.

Think we need to be looking at other areas than the coach, surely After Bluey, we would have learnt not to just look at the coach. Bluey had a stack of potential.

Gotta look at Scurrah, gotta look at the players, Gotta look at the captaincy. Easy to point finger at the coach. Then again, I never had confidence in Elliot from the time we announced it was him, looking forward to seeing what McFadden can do, although it's hard to see any different results as he's got the exact same set up as the previous coaches.

Maybe we need to do what they do in American sport, sell the team to a new owner in a different city. I vote for Greymouth.

We also need to look at why we aren't at our home ground until June and why we have a million different jerseys.

It all points to a business minded franchise when our top priority should be premierships.

that's the guts of it for me..
You can't win premierships if your failing as a business.

But I do also agree that sometimes the best business decision isn't the best footballing decision.

Its all about balance... Maybe it's skewed too much on the business side at the moment.

so we need a coach for next year... if tinkler loses control of the knights (which is likely) then wayne bennetts contract ends (he's signed with tinkler not the knights)... he would be a good tough coach, which is what we need! (plus players seem to want to play for him... although darius boyd would have to play on the wing)

hopefully he would also stop this crap with playing at eden park as a home ground... it isn't and never will be

Just on the current wing spot, Manu showed some cracking pace when attempting to run down that late intercept.

It's obviously still there, when he wants to use it.

I can to a degree understand the decision to relieve ME of his duties but gee the playing group at your club certainly have no equal when they decide to have a shocker such as on the weekend. The mistakes made cannot be attributed solely to poor coaching but more a case of poor attitude, commitment and determination. I'm not trying to be smart here simply feel sorry for ME and other Warriors coaches from the past who have suffered the same fate.

I should also add I think it shows tremendous character off the man that Elliot is in that he elected to resign given the prevailing circumstances. I know he wasn't signed to a long term or guaranteed contract but none the less he did what he believed was in the best interests of the club and that is to his great credit.

There's no way Elliott resigned on his own terms ,I'm guessing the board made their decision and Elliott was asked how it was going to be played out either you resign or your sacked.

What a joke , but I am looking toward to this weekend , one interesting point McFadden made today on RS when asked about changes he said that the most important thing is to select a team where everyone's wiling to dig in and step up for the team.

has Tony Veitch heard something,, I hope so..

FYI .. Big changes to come as a result of Matt Elliott being told "the club is moving in a different direction".. Management and other key personnel set to follow Elliott. This is much more than just a results based decision .. The club has massive issues to sort around culture from top to bottom.

He had targets he had to meet in the first rounds....

He obviously didn't meet them... So was told to resign or be fired...

Pretty easy to understand.

The club is like a spreading pandemic or cancer.

Listened to Jim Banaghan the player agent today

* Elliott was NEVER on the short list in the first place
* He presented a philosophical presentation to Glenn and Scurrah who fell hook line and sinker
* The players however could not understand any of it
* Petero Civonoceva couldn't either and grew intensely frustrated by him
* Banaghan said after last weekends game some players didn't know if he was praising or bagging them
* He said the Warriors have a reputation that no coach wants to go near because they can't trust the joint. Anywhere but Auckland now
* they're bud getting to lose $200k this weekend at Eden Park.

Scurrah has destroyed the joint. Wow, what a snake charmer oil peddler.

Not so sure i'd believe everything Banaghan says. He really doesn't like us.

That said, it could all be pretty close to the mark.

He was if anything sticking up for ME and McFadden. Showed no mercy on the snake oil charmer though and fair enough.
