I don't like the fact that Adamson is back either. But the decision has been made, and I'll accept it.

Fair enough but some people like Big Mick (who people listen to) wont.

If things dont progress on field, people wont be willing to confront him or Elliot nor those responsible for their engagement (as they usuaully will always back their own decisions), so the adverse commentary will have to come from outside the loop (in whispers).

As such, it cant be controlled, readily squashed or otherwise contained by the cadre.

It is not a bad thing for us to consider the ensuing passage of time and what it may bring.

JT himself has already said that he expects to end up like Bomber. But like Elliot he is desperate to achieve something before his time is up. Ricky is the same. Theres no job security anywhere in the game these days.

Perhaps the test for Elliot is the longivity of his structural changes and whether they out-live him if he doesnt perform.

Perhaps the two will go hand in hand!

Long live the Panthers, may the club live forever.

Don't particularly like the fact that adamson is back however one thing his efforts in getting rid or Royce (coincidentally it was Royce's time to go it just the way it was handled that irked me) tell us is that his not afraid to call a spade a spade and I think a few players, in particular some foward, need that sort of brutal honesty.

Now slightly away from that am I reading this right. Is elliot getting more financial backing from the club to do the things he wants and get the things he needs in place?

I am with you . The current squad has never lacked talent. But when it comes to attitude it can be sadly lacking. Example last couple of games of the year when a win was needed there was no mongrell .There is definatly a fire in the bellys of a few players already. We will suprise a lot of people this year

With what Dave Q is saying? I wouldnt take what he says as gospel... after all he is a bunny supporter with a part (albeit it small) ownership of souths and is probably on a mission to lead us all astray up the garden path. ;-)

I'm not following [-X Dave Q.

Geez, I dont think I should be shamed,:? I am just throwing up a few issues for people to consider and make their own minds up about.

I doubt that the restructuring is cost-neutral. I was going to talk about player recruitment later, but you dont go around offering the likes of Lyon an offer without some change in the pocket. I have heard that the Panthers are reasonably comfortable on the cash front.

Elliot has been a stakeholder in the new program-as he jolly well should be. He was consulted numerous times when he was with the Raiders. He said so himself. That is natural. It didnt detract from his duties there either, he's far too professional for that.

All I said is that Lang isnt around to see the changes implemented so he has been unable to derive the benefit that may accrue from same. My understanding is that he would have loved to have stayed on. Who wouldnt.

Its not a bad or evil thing to discuss or theorize on the politics side.

I am not calling for people to vote for a 'footy five' or whatever the boys were called when the merger with Parramatta was allegedly a done deal at the most senior levels of this club. Thank the panther that the merger fell through. You dont want the likes of Parramatta 80's team whinging away at you at every opportunity-ask Brian Smith!

Clubs are very political institutions -all of them. On that issue, the Panthers are no worse or better than any other club.

This is a primarily happy conversation-a sharing of views- its not meant to be not a dark or critical one.

It may cover a few sensitive issues and evoke some strong feelings but that shouldnt mean we tear each other part etc.

We can agree to disagree and then move on, as responsible folk do.

As Laurie Nicholls once told us "Love your club"

The Panthers are a tremendous club, I admire a lot about them and their people.

excuse me Q Dave but you can mock me on PI and here all you want but I stand by what I said.

I will accept the fact that Adamson is at the club, but accepting it doesn't mean I can't oppose the decision and certainly doesn't mean I have to like it.

Calm Down Big Mick, I am a Big Mick supporter!

*Edited*

Whilst here, have a good look around the forum they call a resort. Those sharks guys are a riot and they have a good laugh about their club. They made me an accredited idiot which was pretty kind of them! Check out the Ben Ross thread where they are having an discussion/argument about his injury (complete with medical diagrams about his bloody knee).

I am still looking for an official L.U abacus though, I can put it next to my encyclopoedia of league vol 11 (northern england half-backs 1934-1978)

Come on PK.. get with the program.., its your show! Dont force me to post yet another 2007 prospective team line-up! mmm then again..

Lets have no arguments about the merits of Pritchard off the bench (mmm I'm sweating now).

And you got me!

Any news on Wingy Big Mick?

Dont tell me he wasnt ever talking with the Panthers because I have two independent sources (who dont even know each other) who say that he was, then it all went quiet.

on my bottom preferably...hahaha

I have nothing on wingy Q. I had heard he wanted back into Souths, but I only heard from Penrith based on what was in the papers.

To be honest i'm quite happy with the five-eight stocks for next year.

I have a massive rap on both Jarrod Sammut and Dean Caldwell. As Tigers fans will tell you he has a great kicking game, but he was also picked in rep teams alongside Jarrod Mullen, Jarryd Hayne and such...so he definately has the pedegree. He was also in the team with Geoff Daniella and fellow new recruit Brendan Hlad.

I think bringing Caldwell to the club will prove to be a masterstroke.

Wingy is aging but stll a reasonably potent attacking force, a fine acquisition for the rabbits or the panthers. Either way I'd be be pretty happy.

Cheers BM.
