Would the IC allow Cronulla to upgrade their stadium if the majority of others are playing out of SFS, ANZ, Parra, possible Western Sydney stadium?

Don't Cronulla own their stadium? Why would they need the ICs permission?

Yes they do, and no they wont. The money they are spending to upgrade is coming from their development.

This is something Penrith should do also. We are on the verge on developing Panthers in the tune of a $800m expansion, surely they could spare a measly $20m to spend on Centrebet. Take $10m out of local council, $40m out of state and $80m out of Federal, and there you go our stadium complete. Oh, and the fact the club would own a share could help
tremendously

Penrith's 20 mins by train to parra isn't it? Or is that too far for Sydney fans to travel?

When we are not even close to filling up our 20k stadium why would we move home games further from our fanbase? Our crowds will magically increase because we are playing in a bigger stadium will they?

What are the plans for Centerbet? Seating at both the goalpost ends?

New NRL stadium at Blacktown. Lol at GWS

It will be an all seater. The scoreboard Hill has to stay the plumbing pipes go right underneath there. It was meant to already be a dual grandstand (Sharing with the cricket field) the plumbing didn't allow for it. You could do the 3 sides corners included though.

Yes you are correct that there are the sewage pipes on the southern hill. However, it was just not cost effective at the time to pay to have them moved / redesigned. IF we were to upgrade Centrebet in the way of a $100m+ upgrade, then it could and would be done.

From memory it cost several million to have them moved / redesigned. As we only had $5m to spend, it was not the right way to go

New stadium at Blacktown Sportspark please.

Literally 7 minutes from where I live.
I am a fan of both ideas, Centrebet upgrade or Blacktown sports park.

My idea is the Blacktown venue could be the home ground for 6-8 Penrith games per year (if not all of them), as well as every game between all the 4 western sydney clubs. So each of Parra, Penrith, Tigpies and Dogs would play 3 home, and 3 away games per year there. This on top of The WS Wanders moving west from Parra Stadium.

There you have your approx 30+ games per year, all year round.

Ahh that'd make sense.

Plans are under way to make Centrebet a 32500 seater or build a new stadium at Blacktown. Either is better then the hellhole that is ANZ or fighting through traffic at Parra. Although Penrith is better personally having Blacktown with access by train. M7 link does make sense.

Would a new stadium at Blacktown be just for Penrif or would other clubs use it aswell?

I imagine if Wests have to stop using Campbelltown and Leichardt it could be an option for them?

Half at the SFS for the Balmain fans and half at Blacktown ISP for the Wests fans.

Cronulla can do whatever they like. The IC could simply produce a criteria that can't be
met requiring grounds to be of a certain standard or you don't get a licence.

Especially considering the train line from Campbelltown means it would be quicker getting to Parramatta then Homebush rather than Blacktown - Campbelltown trainline connects with the 'Western Line' at Granville.

Seriously Red, Besides playing in a bigger, newer stadium how does playing out of Parra benefit Penrith?

It doesn't. It suits his fantasy of the NRL becoming the A League though. Apparently the sports "backwards" until we play all matches in all seated stadiums with 150k watching.

If this eventuates it wont equal bigger crowds, not in the near or far future.

I will say it now, if the sharks move to sfs on a permanant basis the amount of games i attend will drop to about 2 from 10.

I await the jibes of laziness from the forum douche committee but the facts remain its easier for me and my family to get to shark park than it is to the city regardless of the timeslot.

Im also not alone on this.

How will moving to Parra increase our Crowds?

You have nothing of value to add to this, you just keep plugging the same shit about bigger crowds.

I am not saying it will or that it is a good idea, there is a move it would seem to consolidate Sydney stadiums to 3 or 4. For those clubs not playing at one of them they will have a tough decision of move to one of them or find the money to redevelop their own grounds. The advantages of moving to a shared stadium are that you get a payment for playing there, have no maintained costs and better facilities for fans and corporates. The down side is the inconvenience of getting to and from it, especially as our game moves increasing fly to evening ko's.
