Re: sharks and dragons ground sharing, apart from the many many obvious reasons why not, the absolute reason that has not been mentioned is leagues clubs. Take 12 home games from Toyota to Kogarah and Cronulla Leagues loses its biggest 12 profits of the year, could well sink the place. Whats worse (for them) is St.George Leagues would benefit and be able to put money back into Saints. And obviously vice versa.

The only way a ground share could work is if a 25 - 30,000 all seater was built brand new at say Blakehurst, San Souci, Taren Point or Sylvania. Obviously not happening

No, the ARLC should subsidise tickets to make it look like a crowd. If that doesn't work reduce the number of teams. They are being paid a billion dollars to put on a show not please some dinosaurs dreaming of the good old days.

Even as an adult i always choose to sit on the grass hills when i have the choice. I have a season ticket to the knights and i always sit on the hill. I think newcastle has a great setup. A nice modern stadium with a big capacity that is complemented by a hill to sit on.

Sure stadiums like Suncorp or robina or whatever are great to but sometimes i just like an old fashioned hill. That experience is what being a league fan is all about.

I agree newcastles stadium is the blue print for future NRL stadiums IMO. 30,000 with over 20'000 seating, grass hill for those who prefer it but enough undercover seating that if it is a rainy day the crowd isn't decimated as you know you can stay dry.

People seem to think I am advocating all seaters but I'm not, I'm advocating for modern stadiums with modern facilities, 20'000 undercover seats and a 25-30'000 capacity.

I really hope they rethink stage2 of the nib development and extend the shed terraced end rather than make it all seater. Would take capacity closer to 30'000 and give a uniqueness to the stadium.

I doubt it will happen but if the Bulldogs are playing to an empty stadium they will deserve to be cut.

As do the hills at any ground. WIN, Kogarah and Brookie all look fantastic on tv there is a good crowd. ANZ on the other hand looks pathetic even with 30,000 and the SFS looks abysmal at any Roosters home game that isn't ANZAC day.

Im aware of the slip n slide at LO.....it really wasnt such a wet day, it started to get heaviest at kick off.

Cambo srtruggles on a Mon nite, not easy for many trying to get from the city (50km) in time for kick off,....compared to Leichhardt, which is just across the bay the latter much simpler

My point being that they dont just get good crowds on "sunny Sunday arvos"

You are the only person I have seen that hates hills. Stop thinking your opinion is the majority because so far in this thread it isn't.

Wonder if that has more to do with price difference? Been to sharks stadium 3 times and each time there was sub 12k there and hardly anyone on the hill, probably due to the fact it was freezing.

Anz is sadly a big part of the problem of a centralised stadium strategy. Don't think anyone would argue it is a great ground for club games from an atmosphere point of view or look on tv. IMO the arlc should remove anz from any stadium strategy and have a long term plan for a decent 35k stadium somewhere. Sfs is a decent place for big games or well supported clubs but anz should be removed from any club strategy and a shared stadium suitable for two or three tenants built.

Easy to pick selective photos, how about pics of all the sub 10k crowds? For one off heritage games it is fine but in the 21st century for our top league some of these grounds are throw backs that are well pass their use by date. Had to laugh at Finch being critical of some SL grounds,he has obviously forgotten the state of some grounds here.

A sub 10k crowd is gonna look a lot worse at a big all seater than a half full suburban ground.

And on finch, I went to BELLE VUE at Wakefield this year. That ground is an absolute dump. 20 times worse than brookvale. Worse than Henson park. Nothin in the NRL like that.

AAMI park is waaaaaay too big for the sharks, manly or Penrith. And why would they need to go all seater? That north hill is a big draw for local families. It's alcohol free, they put a jumping castle on it for the rug rats and the older kids can kick a footy around while mum and dad sit on a rug and stretch out (or stand on the other side of the fence and smash cans with one eye on the kids and one on the game). In fact, without that hill, sharks crowds would be worse, not better.

Shark Park is a great ground. Tonnes of corporate options, a good mix of GA and reserved seating, and hills. Electronic gates. Parking, public trans and easy access to the club. In fact, I don't want more people going there because it makes it harder for me to get beers.
