Anyway, looks a bit random to me but these are the first 17 to be announced in the elite 17. At least we know we're not short on locks and props :lol:

More will be added soon to take it up to a group of 30 players who will have regualr get-togethers, and access to specialist coaches, physio, etc. Great to see the likes of LMS, Myler, Shenton, Westerman and Briscoe in there; emerging talent waiting for an opportunity at the highest level.

Can't for the live of me work out why Fa'asavalu (not good enough and not bloody English!) and Wilkin (can only play when in a Sts side that is 'rolling forward' over their opponents) are on that list.

Be interesting to see who else gets named in the group, I hope Smith isn't considering some sort of misplaced loyalty to the players who pissed about in Australia for six weeks last year.

Is it fair to say that Richard Myler and Sam Tomkins are the future of Englands halves? I wantched Sam Tomkins play and he has an awsome step, I rekon he has better footwork then Brad Fittler. Richard Myler reminds me of Tim Smith when he was younger. All the talent in the world but like Smith, Myler dosent take on the line very much.
