Blueprint batting performance for the world cup.

Khawaja, Handscomb, S.Marsh (Bit harsh, has reasonable levers) etc can't all fit in that top/middle order. We need more lever men.

Sad but true. Brayshaw and his levers obsession was right all along. How awful

Indeed.

I really like that 2015 lineup we had. We did change the order around with Watson during the tournament but we set the pace that year.

Its tricky to assess whether we are just taking the piss until Warner/Smith return or we actually think singles to long-on and a pace battery will get us over the line.

The future is levers and the future is now.

West Indies are the 9th ranked team in the world, England number 1. Jason Roy loves to flex his slogging levers against minnows.

I think England and India are the standout teams atm but England's all star lever line up are still very susceptible to a collapse against a good bowling unit like SA or us if we pick our best bowling side

Warner and Smith won't and didn't change our fortunes before they were suspended. We've been poor in this format pretty much since Smith took over the captaincy

Thats why I wanted Michael Clarke back as captain last year ;)

Yeah England have no recovery gear. Can be easy to roll them if you start keeping them quiet, because their response is to go harder.

Whether our KFCaptain had the tactical nous to use that advantage is another question obviously

Pakistan showed the blueprint to beating India, SA and England in the Champions Trophy. Need to take early wickets and keep applying pressure with the field up. We take the foot off with bat and ball through the middle overs.

yup true

the bench mark is there for all to see on batting decks

Interesting times next month or so to see the make up of the squad

I wonder if they will consider Stoinis as opener?

Not sure Smith will be ready by the WC, and having Khawaja and SMarsh at 3 and 4 might not be a sensible way to go if we want to challenge

Warner
Short
Maxwell
Smarsh
Smith
Head
Stoinis
Carey

Drop Finch and make Smarsh captain.

That's right, he's playing well enough to be in the team, put him as captain

Stoinis at 3 was mentioned in another thread.

If you believe what the media is trotting out this morning apparently Jason Roy is England's solution to their Ashes batting line up.
