I say we rest our 5th test bowlers and Haddin. Play the top 6 batsmen that will play in the 5th test

Warner
Rogers
Khawaja
Clarke
Smith
Faulkner
Wade
Agar

Lyon

Hughes to open the batting and bowling

Will score 0 getting out to England's second string spinner and take 0/200

Anyone who thinks they would play Clarke is geniused. His back is going on him. Some are saying he might only have a couple years left. He won't play a 2 day tour game ffs.

Neither will Rogers as his place in the test team would be set in stone at this point.

Hughes to open and prove himself with yet another century.

Khawaja is a myth, I guess the modern criteria is never mind good scoring just make sure you look good when scoring nothing.

Said this months ago. The bloke looks to be one of the laziest cricketers going around. A couple of his ODI dismissals earlier this year showcased that. A nonchalant flick off the pads in the air straight to the man in the circle and a run out without urgency or desperation. Don't rate him.

Totally agree, I just don't get what people see in this guy. He's been the next 'big thing' for the last 6 years and never produced fiddly squat.

Northamptonshire would have been our opponents if they missed out on their T20 finals day

Lions 7/269

Ballance 104 (this guy must be close to making the top XI side, outstanding FC record after 61 games)

Lyon 3/80
Smith 2/8
Agar 0/55

Ballance is a top batsman. And not even an Englishman.

Surely they declare before a ball is bowled today? Warner and Hughes look set to open. Hopefully 0/120 by lunch.

They wanted him but he didn't want to play for them.

You would have thought that his uncle Dave Houghton might have been able to persuade him to play for Zimbabwe but I think he did the opposite and encouraged him to play for England.
