Hamish is playing county cricket for Gloucestershire. I spoke with James about a month or so ago and he said he's really enjoying it.

Top order is a massive concern for NZ.

Oram, McCullum and Vettori carrying the batting...It can't help their keeping/bowling to also have to carry the side out of trouble.

Some things are constant - our top order has always been a concern

How is actually a decent player, and will do ok. Flynn is pretty good too, and everyone raves about Taylor, he'll score runs no question.

But the three you mentioned are the core, unfortunately Jake is quite injury prone, and Vettori seldom gets wickets like he did in that test..

meritorious draw imo, given the overwhelming arrogance of the english before the test
