I received an email from the the Public relations department within our Club. It stated that Eric Grothe Junior will be playing in the Blue and Gold next year. We all knew it probably would happen, but I prefer confirmations.

I do not believe in cutting and pasting private emails and posting them on the net. Rest assured its true. The Avenger does not lie.

(PS I already posted on the Sharks site and informed them.)

so it was stated in one of the papers on sunday along with the signing of morrison

It was also stated in the papers 2 weeks ago that Manly had signed Tahu. Like I said I prefer confirmations from "official" sources. Not some rumour generated by fans eating meatpies at Football grounds.

Just on Tahu quickly

So much for

A) THe Letter of intent
B) His wifes freindship with Kennedy's wife meaning he'll goto Manly
C) Manly having better real estate then Parra (ok that is true but wasn't enough)

Tahu - to Guru - Woo Hoo !!!! :D

This has the potential to become the deadliest centre - wing combination in the NRL.

As long as we have 5/8 can passes the ball instead of running it sideways :?

We need centres and wingers willing to run off the crabbing 5/8.

That's how Dykes plays - it's how he's always played. He crabs looking for gaps and passes to the players running into them at angles.

But I agree - excellent news that Guru will be with us and Guru and Tim Tam will have an awesome combination.

What an aggressive combination it will be!

Tahu will be wasted on the right side, much like Jamie was. He's a try scorer like Guru, and most of our tries come from the left side as most of our attacking plays go this way. This weekend all 5 tries came from our left side (Burt 3, Petersen 2).

It has to be;
4. Tahu
5. Grothe

I don't really buy this "specialist" side thing.

Sure, if you have a great left foot step you'd be better on the left hand side of the field to step in-field (or right to step outside the marker?) and vice versa.

But a truly classy player can play anywhere - like Jamie. He played right centre for us, carved up. Left centre in Origin, carved up.

I think we went to the left on Saturday for two reasons:

1. It was Heggarty's second match back, so confidence would not be high

2. Despite what people may say, Petersen leaps into the air like Barishnikhov and Graham still hasn't found his confidece and form, so we could only go left

"fresh" may even be on the outer! depending on the progression of Ben Smith and or Brett Delany

Fresh will be a starter next season.

yes I know!! if you were to choose a full strength line up tomorrow "Fresh" would start however I wouldn't rule out Smith and Delany making a real contest out of his spot by March next year!
