So folks who kicks off the European Championship with a win ...and if you want ...why do you think this is the case.

16 Oct: Wales vs Scotland, Wrexham

17 Oct: France vs Ireland, Albi

For me ....

* Wales to slowly put the title holding Scots to the sword. Tough encounter to start with and a couple of new faces in Scottish forward pack keen to seen on the international stage; however the Welsh to outlast them over the 80 mins and win by 6+.

* France to see their youthful members (e.g. Fages) of the team step up and show themselves as International quality and after a tight first half win by 13+

I think Brough's class will be the difference in the Wales, Scotland match.

France should put 40+ on this Ireland team but could still see Ireland scoring 20+.

Are these televised at all, any live stream? And are these on early morning or middle of night for Australia?

Scotland by 12

Wales look better than last year, but still for mine not as good as the Scots.

France by 12

I would say France should win by 20 but its France so I expect something to go wrong.

Ps its not the 'A' teams...

Up here we clearly define our 'A' teams as teams purely for domestic players...the wales, scotland & ireland 'A' teams already play in a well established series against each other...

Seriously though....just cos the likes of peter wallace, kane linnett aren't playing scotland its doesn't render them a A team....england & nz are missing a dozen players between then....we aren't A teams....ot effing development teams!!!

Darling ? We've only just met ....you cheeky devil .:D

Anyhoos, if one was to be pedantic ...i note you didn't make mention of this issue in Miguel's thread ! :p

Personally i think there should be an international standard for teams of the various standard / eligibility - say the 'Presidents Selection' for Domestic competitions based players only, 'Invitational' for the next step up so can include those from outside the domestic scene and the the 'National' squad for the main events.

Just suggestions off the top my head folks !

Anyhoos, back on topic .....wearing my Wales RLWC 2013 polo shirt at work today to promote / publicise the comp if or when asked !

These are full international matches, the competition is called European Championship A, as opposed to the European Championships B and C which feature different nations.

If the RLEF website is correct there is no mention of the 'A' - so i assume - it is just the European Championship.

Splitting hairs here i know ....(a practice i would encourage as a folicly challenged person !)
