Just read that he's been cut from the Knights and is back in Auckland- could be a ready-made solution to our propping issues? I imagine he'd come fairly cheap on a last-minute one-year contract in that situation. I always rated him and he's gone pretty well in Newcastle.

Yeah I heard the same - apparently a victim of Bennett's cutting the guys he doesn't rate.

Seems fairly ridiculous as Evarn was their most consistent front rower all last season.

I think we'd be stupid not to consider signing him up on a 1 year deal.

I too was always a big fan of Tuimavavae, and sad to see him leave us a couple of years ago.

A short-term contract would make sense, but I can't see him staying in the top team once we get Rapira & Lillyman back.

Not hard to be the most consistent when your compared to Fa'aoso who's a specialist bench impact forward, Kaufusi, who's an absolute oxygen thief and Tolar, who is as soft as a pillow.
I personally think Zane Tetevano would've overtaken Tui by seasons end in anycase

So if we sign him up long term where does that leave the development of the Lousi Bros and maybe Taii and Rapira

I say match payments and if he can get a better deal in a couple on months he leaves with the clubs blessing

Yeah, I think Bennett is jumping the shark with Newcastle.

He should have gone back home to the Broncos and seen out his days on the Bronco ranch with Lockyer under his wing.
