Exhibition curtain raisers to finals - 4N / RLWC

Wondering if anything would be benefitted by arranging curtain raisers to the above finals with the objective being exhibiting talent from emerging territories ?

In saying curtain raiser i don't limit this timeframe to immediately before the main game - it could be the night before as part of a 'Fan's Day / Afternoon'.

As for competitors i am torn between the concept of Region v Region rather than the traditional country v country. Resident players rather than heritage players being the targeted participants.

For example, the 2016 4N final showcasing an East v West Europe Invitationals rather than say Spain v Serbia. Gives more exposure to all of Europe's fledgling leagues and as most likely only two at most from an individual country possibly less costs to that country. RLWC17 could be Pacific Rim v Middle East /Africa ?

Market the game via the relevant sports media streams for the respective regions ..... and hopefully see some greater recognition of the code in these new frontiers.

Investment in an RL international future .....or a waste of our limited resources ($$$) ???

I know your heart is in the right place with some of these ideas, but I don't think it's a good idea. Much better having actual real nations playing a match.

For example, South Africa vs Cook Islands (assuming neither qualify), you will get people from their respective communities (living in Aus) turning out to watch the game, and possibly add another 1000 fans to the attendance on the day.

Whereas no-one can identify with East vs West, for example and therefore would be less likely to want to turn up and watch. These emerging nations have a future, so why not give them any opportunity we can? Regions, in my opinion, are not the future of Rugby League.
