Add player withdrawals in the fortnight leading up to game1 and we got the series we deserved.

Add in McNamara's strange selection policy too. This is supposed to give England players' a real test we can't get elsewhere in the NH but McNamara then treats it like a trial match to give players a runout in an England shirt. Another reason why the English RL public are viewing the Exiles concept with suspicion.

Aye, covered under point 1 of the post I quoted...most plans to improve the England RL side start the same way tbf;-)

Give it a few more seasons and you might be able to hold a north v south game, now that would be worth watching.

God, that's decades away yet. What would be interesting is Cumbria v London and South. Two pretty evenly matched teams, although the jammy ones would have much more depth in terms of semi-pro players.

Saints and Sale was actually 2003 so you're not as old as you thought you were Teddy ;-). Leeds are looking at playing a hybrid game.
