I don’t think the argument is to start a comp there or anything. The argument especially smarter posters are posing is that there’s player stocks there and there’s saffas here. Saffas here have families and kids probably not in rugby league systems. Even if it’s a tiny % it’s still a % nether the less and can be targeted now just like islander nations peoples were back late 80s 90s etc as @Red&BlackBear is arguing.Isn’t RL in South Africa still under RU’s running? It was ruled to be “a different form of the same sport” like 7’s from memory.
Not to say the NRL can’t come in and pinch some players and maybe gain some fans but it won’t ever gain much traction locally in that situation.
but as always @Perth Red aka perthwrongs doesn’t understand what he is trying to debate. Once again Perth wrongs has zero clue and once again Perth wrongs is wrong. He is 0 from 14,569 arguments this year alone it’s time he gets back on the endeavour and sails home but I doubt the dreary folk of hull would welcome a sad sack of badger excrement like him back.
the argument is can nrl with their cash entice current saffa pro rugby players? Probably not. Can nrl with their cash entice school boy saffa rugby players currently living in west Aussie? 100% they can. Nrl only need to jag a few kids and convert them into rugby league diehards as those kids become men and age. From there anything can happen. This is exactly how the game was grown for Fijians, Tongans samoas etc as smart people are stating.
but Perth wrongs who only knows kidney and onion shithouse English pies and piss warm red ale doesn’t know the good stuff. He has never tried a great chunky steak pie or had ice cold lager. He only know shit and because of that he is shit
