Expectation Clause and board
The players wants lots of money - okay.
Clubs should be able to write a expectation clause in their contract which suggest -
If you sign a $million dollar contract and don’t exceed a club’s expectation you as a player must be held accountable.
Via an impartial NRL board face a jury and if guilty for failing expectation a percentage of the next years contract should be held back.
Hunt is a clear candidate
We the Dragons paid so much expected so much more and got little in return.

Benji did it to us. Hunt has done it to us.
Enough is enough.

"Specific performance" is what it's called and it is close to impossible to enforce. The club just has to have someone in charge who can recognize character and try to sign only people of good character/ competitors. This is something that Bennett and Bellamy and Jack Gibson too are/were all about.

An example is Gutho. He is like that knight in the Holy Grail who had no legs but still wanted to fight. He would never take it easy once you signed him. Sua seems to be the same. Personal standards.

There is a new standard
You see guys like the Penrith duo of Yeo and Cleary exceeded all expectations
Extraordinary efforts throughout the year.
Eg. Hunt. Wouldn’t give him 700g
Now look at the entire league.
Million dollar players?
Genuine contestants- You could count them on one hand.
These bitches aren’t worth squat.
Anybody who would give these no name guy that much money are fools.
And these guys wouldn’t put in the effort whinging aren’t paid enough.

We must be seen as suckers!! Taken for rides by players and their managers. Is Volkman another example? But yes, guys like Hunt and Benji and quite a few other journeymen and rejects have done it to us. Dragons the suckers.

I believe that Benji’s play was somewhat hampered by Widdop and visa versa . Although both were excellent players in their own right , their individual style of play was at odds with each other.

They never quite had a cohesive working combination , which was compounded by the fact that both players were actually five-eighths .
