On ESPN Football today there was a question raised as to lets say LA was given a team and said, that they can create a team based on all rookies from an upcoming draft & 6 year + Veteran FA's. How would that team do.
Lets say 2011 Draft class...how would your team look. Who would you target as a GM. What scheme's would your team implement?
My team:
Offense - 60-40 Pass-Run offense
Defense - 4-3 Defense
QB1 - Carson Palmer (Vet), QB2 - Christian Ponder, QB3 - Cam Newton
RB1 - Mark Ingram, RB2 - Mikel Leshoure, RB3 - Ryan Williams
FB - Tony Richardson (Vet)
WR 1 - A.J.Green, Greg Little
WR 2 - Julio Jones, Leonard Hankerson
WR Slot - Greg Salas, Austin Pettis
TE - Kyle Rudolph, Matt Spaeth (Vet)
LOT - Anthony Castanzo, Nate Solder
LG - Robert Gallery (Vet), Ben Ijalana
C - Mike Pouncey, Stefen Wisniewski
RG - Danny Watkins, Gabe Carimi
RT - Tyron Smith, Derek Sherrod
LE - Robert Quinn, Da'Quan Bowers
DT 1 - Marcell Dareus, Phil Taylor
DT 2 - Corey Luiget, Nick Fairley
RE - Jason Babin (Vet), Aldon Smith
OLB - Von Miller, Bruce Carter
MLB - Barret Ruud (Vet), Kelvin Sheppard, Casey Matthews
OLB - Martez Wilson, Akeem Ayers
CB 1 - Patrick Peterson, Ike Taylor (Vet), Jimmy Smith
CB 2 - Nnamdi Asomugha (Vet), Prince Amukamara, Ras-I Dowling
FS - Rahim Moore, Jordan Babineaux (Vet)
SS - Donte Whitner (Vet), Aaron Williams
K - Alex Henery
P - Ben Graham (Vet)
11 Vets
41 Rookies
52 total players - 3 free roster spots
That team I think has potential to be really good.
Safety seems to be the weakest area, but still solid.
I think they'd struggle year 1-2...but by year 3 I can see it being a dominant team.
