The question is what we need more - AFBs try scoring X factor or JFHs mana and leadership. And I think there’s strong arguments for both.
With the roster we have today, IMO it’s the latter.

If we were genuine title contenders then I’d 100% take AFB’s metres and tries. But sadly, we’re not. And having AFB wouldn’t change that because we had him in ’23 when nearly everyone else around him was in the form of their lives, and we were still well short of Penrith and Brisbane.

So as of right now, I’m happy we have JFH setting culture and standards, especially for the youngsters. Might be a cop out saying this before the season even starts, but unless we land a top-class half - or someone we have actually turns out to be one – IMO we’re rebuilding. And people like Fish are the sort we need for that.

I agree. I think we potentially gain more from JFH’s prescience.

Not to mention tipping comps!
Hahahaha he might get me over 50% in tipping comps, which I never achieve.

How ridiculous is that. I follow this game with ridiculous passion and detail, yet I cannot predict a winner more than half the time. Shows what a great comp it is, even if I can probably predict the GF teams and winner 12 months out.

What's your pick? (or do we have a thread for that already...? my bad if so lol)

Haha nah I reckon we need a thread for it. Main NRL has one, I think, but don't venture in there much.

Melbourne will be there, squad is too strong and the FU factor sky high to avenge Penrith's dominance. Honestly, when you make 5 in a row and you win four in a row, and you lose a bit but you gain Talagi, Papali'i, I refuse to go along with anyone who thinks Penrith won't be there on GF day again. They have tons of motivation, best coach in the game, their side is still stacked, until the Clearys go (Nathan mostly) I won't ever tip them not to make the GF and go close to winning it.

We should do a season predictor, like they did on Levels last week (Dally M, top points scorer, top tries, Warriors POTY, top 8, GF + winner, wooden spoon etc)

Agree on JFH being integral for our culture and rebuild. AFB may have been the best prop the past couple of seasons, but I think his selfish ways was not going to be good for this club overall. I'll lol if he goes backwards with the Sharks because it would mean our club was the only club that got him the Dally M Prop x2.
