How good is this year's championship? Brawn look to have it in the bag already, but at least it's not f**king Ferrari. Heck, Red Bull and Toyota are still in front of Ferrari and McLaren after 6 rounds. Who would have predicted that?

Mind you, I'm a McLaren fan (and have been since the days of Senna and Prost), but my team being up the sh*t hasn't bothered me as much as it would have in previous years. Probably because Ferrari have been up the sh*t as well (just not quite as badly as us).

Webber is finally having a bit of luck go his way, and seems to have a decent car under him as well. Same thing with interest could be said about Button. He's slaved away for years at the back of the grid in a sub-standard car. He's more than served his apprenticeship, and had to suffer the indignity of seeing Hamilton overtake him as the darling of British motor racing. He will no doubt be thoroughly enjoying his current run, and hats off to him and his start-up team that turned the Honda corpse into something worthwhile.

I'm enjoying it too. Although as refreshing as it is, i do think it's quite a bit suspect that a team on the brink of folding has remade themselves to lead the championship by the margin they have.

Oooh and Go Webber!:thumb

Button dominates once again, Vettell and Barrichello made it easy for him.

Good job for Webber too to take 2nd, the Braun and Red Bull cars are still way ahead of the competitors.

Most interesting season in years. F1 is at it's best when there is a bit of technical innovation allowed. It let's the non-factory teams compete. The worst thing about a so-called level-playing-field is that it means the teams with the most money and power win. Loosen the regs a bit, and innovators can shine. Factory teams hate this - the marketing departments struggle when teams like Williams, Red Bull or Brawn best them.

There is still a long way to go this season.

theres a long way to go but button has it in the bag the car is way to strong, itmakes schumi's Ferrari look slow by standards, button gave up with 10 laps to go with a 30 sec lead

The grip on those brawn cars, mechanical and aerodynamic is just amazing. What a great package put together under poor circumstances.

I am really enjoying the season too, its so good to see the usual suspects struggling.

Bloody Raikonen - if he hadn't been going slow hjogging the racing line, Webber would have been on the front row and might have given Vettel a run for his money. I still think Vettel would have won, but Mark would have had at least a chance to crack his maiden victory. 3 second places this year - he's getting closer.

As for my mob, McLaren, it just keeps getting more and more embarrassing. What the f**k were the team doing in the second half of last year and over the winter? Playing with etch-o-sketches?

Yeah that McLaren looks terrible, Hamilton was trying hard but was getting no traction out of the corners.

Vettel did it easy, I think he had more pace than Webber.

Still don't know how Barrichello stayed ahead of Rosberg and Massa after his second stop

As a McLaren fan this year has been horrible, but very different.
It's so odd not to see a McLaren or Ferrari constantly winning. But you know it's wierd I'll always be a McLaren fan but I guess my focus has turned to Webber for the rest of this season and hopefully getting a first win..

i think webbers best shot is to win at either belgium or singapore, or at abu dhabi which is a new track for this year

Definitely the best season in years - Mark Webber has finally won a race, and is an outside chance at nicking the Driver's Championship from Button if the Red Bulls can keep their speed advantage for the rest of the season (and Mark can keep ahead of his team mate).

Who did you go for out of Senna and Prost? I was a Senna fan (and later a Hakkinen fan) so I guess I was always fond of McLaren. I was there in 1997 when DC handed them their first win since Ayrton's final victory at Adelaide in '93. Was an awesome day!

Onto Mark's win last night and the great thing about it was that there was nothing "Steven Bradbury" about it at all. He was the best driver all weekend and truly deserved to win. It was funny how, in the past, he has been desperately unlucky but this weekend it seemed that no matter what happened to him (the contact with Barrichello at the start that could have damaged his car, the subsequent drive-through penalty) nothing could stop him.

Even better - timing was a bit screwed up at the end of qualifying.

More news on Massa:

"Ferrari’s Felipe Massa will not race in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix following his high-speed qualifying crash at the Hungaroring, the team have confirmed. Massa was airlifted to AEK Hospital in Budapest, where he is in a stable condition.

“Felipe was conscious at the arrival at the hospital,” said a Ferrari statement, adding that Massa had suffered a cut on his forehead, concussion and a bone lesion of the skull. Massa underwent surgery to treat these conditions, the outcome of which was positive. He will now remain under observation in intensive care.

The Brazilian speared off the track and into the tyre wall at Turn 4 late in the Q2 session after a rear damper spring that had come loose from the Brawn car of Rubens Barrichello struck his helmet.

Medics were quickly in attendance and the start of Q3 was delayed as they extricated the Brazilian. After initial examinations at the medical centre, Massa, eighth fastest in Q2, was transferred to hospital for further treatment.

Ferrari are expected to release an update on Massa's condition on Sunday morning."

The start is going to be even more crucial today because of how difficult it is to overtake on thiis track. Red Bull will most likely go 1-2 anyway via pit strategy.
