Parra Guru said:I didn't attend but from what I have heard 4 of our players (no prizes for guessing who) left after they had ther team photo taken, and before they had to mingle with fans. They were missing for the massive team shot.
It would be refreshing if these players had to face consequences for this, but the club won't do anything.
If all the other teams and players from the other clubs can hang around and fulfil the day's duties, then I believe there is no excuse for our players to piss off just because they don't want to deal with the kids.
Poor form.

eelaholic said:no but the idea of showing him a photo on the camera I had that piggy borrowed to take pics of when he put the pricey sign up on the stadium, did cross my mind
Obviously I thought better of it

Firstly, before the gates even opened at least half the clubs had merchandise vans set up outside the stadium selling off team merchandise... We didnt. Then inside, each club had a tent set up. The Tigers had 3 tents. One for Balmain, one for the Magpies and one for the West Tigers. I will go on record now as saying this club will steal alot of our fans over the next few years if we dont smarten the hell up. Each of he Tigers tents were giving out free showbags with the Magpies one including a free Premiers '05 t-shirt. So, lets skip over to the Parra tent shall we... Pamphelts on how to become a memeber (ok, good recruitment driving there) but not real other incentives. A 2007 poster and if you were lucky, 1 tattoo. The only other tent that looked barer than our was Newtown, but at least they had a merchandise stall set up outside the gates. I even saw a kid walk up to the girls in the tent to ask for something and he was told to come back later as they didnt have it. YOU DONT GET SUCCESSFUL BY TURNING PPL AWAY!
As for the players who chose not to attend the major team photo I hope they are reprimanded. Not only have they cheated the fans by not having a full squad in such a memorbale photo, but they have also cheated themselves and their families in a place in history. I am ashamed at all 4 of them. And not to attend sheduled events is just plain rude. The kids that were waiting up in the arts and crafts area at the end of the day, only to be told that Parra, the last team to attend, were unable to to show up, were absolutely shattered. If an adult misses out on such things I say (to a certain degree) that we will get over it. To let kids down is just not on!
Anyways, I better shush now or I will be on a rant for the rest of the afternoon. But everyone from the club who was involved in yesterdays activities should hang their head in shame!
