Couldn't make it myself, (kids sport and work) so just wondering if there's anyone out there who went and what it was like?
Was it as better/worse than previous years?

I heard Russell Fairfax on Fox Sports News earlier saying that he'd spoken to Jarryd Hayne and he thought he'd be right for Round 1.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing any reports.

i got there at around 10 past 11. there were 3 tables there with a few of the fringe players at them while most of the big names were on the ground in the touch footy game. At about a quarter past 12 or so the rest of the guys went to the tables. At 1 on the dot security guards stood at the end of the lines to stop anyone else lining up however people that were in the line were able to get the signatures.
I was in the line with Hindy, Sandow, Reni, Horo and about 4 or 5 others(couldn't see who they were as there were too many people in the way). By the time i got the the tables everyone except Hindy, Sandow and Horo had pissed off. Then i find out that a tables that i had already been to had different guys at it when it was all finished.
Off the top of my head i missed out on getting Hayne, Mannah, Smith, Keating, Tautai(sp) and probably about 3 or so others. But it was ok because we can get the signatures after games i kept getting told.
Overall it was better than standing in 1 line for hours and missing out completely but they still have a lot of work to do to streamline it all.
Apparently next year will be members only

I was there with my son. Very hot. The access to the touch footy game was a nice touch. I met Tautai, very nice guy as was Lasalo. Spoke to Pat O. He is so tall but still needs to fill out. Willie Tonga was also a pleasure. He is huge. Hayne reckons he will be fit by round 1. Sandow couldn't talk enough on how happy he is. Hindmarsh still has a presence and there is an aura about him only suited to legends but with humility. Overall a great day. My boy rated it a 10.

Good to hear Sandow is happy and your boy enjoyed the day.

Thanks mate. They are great days. Seeing your kids over awed always gives me a buzz. All the players were very accommodating. Re: Sandow. He may be short but is very stocky. You just couldn't wipe the smile off his face. Surprisingly Kearney was not present.

I'm almost certain I saw Kearney at lunchtime at the Clovelly hotel having a beer and a punt. I suppose he can't be everywhere.

Maybe you missed some players when looking at your watch?

Good report mate. Nice to hear the club and the players can do something positive despite what the death riders say.

Cue Parra Ads.
Thanks for the reports guys. It sounds like it was quite a good day, which is good to hear.

Oh... I've been making fun of the "death riding" nonsense not knowing I was the culprit... this is a reality check.

Maybe you missed some players when looking at your watch?

I'm confused. Am I supposed to laugh, feel insulted or both?

The players that I saw all seemed happy to be there, quite chatty although given the time restraints conversations were kept to a minimum.

I just feel the organisation could have been a little better

Overall my daughter and I got 22 signatures so I suppose that wasn't too bad

We will just have to go to an after game function to get the ones we missed

If you didn't laugh then I'd be insulted.

22 Signatures is a pretty damn good effort. It's a lot to expect you'd get EVERY signature in one day. I'd only really want the signatures of our best or my favourite players personally, so if you got those that's something to cheer about. Sounds like those that went it was rewarding so that's great for the fans especially the kids.

I'm not saying that Keating is anywhere near my favourite player.
Every year i buy a jersey and try and get all the signatures. When i get a bigger house and i get my poolroom i am going to frame them all and put them up.
Ok i've worked out the ones i missed out on
Hayne
Mannah
Smith(he wasn't there)
Paulo
Lasalo
Esi Tonga
Loko
Tautai
J.Mannah
