I've been getting a little bored with this game lately (NRL 2003 that is) so I have come up with an idea that I'm playing around with at the moment in an effort to get a little bit more out of it. My idea is to stage a Fantasy NRL Season, using the game to determine results. It may be better explained if I put this into point form.
* A season featuring all the 15 NRL clubs.
* 15 players (ie. you guys) to manage 1 team of your choice.
* Season will include rep games (City v. Country, Origin and Tests)
* Games will be 15 minute halves, CPU vs. CPU, and I will not be managing any teams so favourtism won't come into results at all.
* Managers get to choose their teams for each week of play (as well as selecting captains, goal kickers etc.), however they can only use players that currently play for their team eg. Lockyer for Broncos, Davico for Raiders...NO PLAYER TRADES. To allow trading and drafting would makes things too damn hard to keep track of.
You basically get the idea (I hope). I am tinkering with a way of making injuries and send-offs affect the season. Maybe a players first injury is a mandatory 1 week out, his second injury is 3 weeks out and so on...First send-off is 2 weeks out, second send-off is 4 weeks out and so on. I'm also yet to come up with a way of selecting rep sides.
If anyone has any ideas please post them here, I will be making a site to stage this from, where managers and their teams will be listed, screenshots, points tables, injury lists, suspended players, top pointscorers etc. etc.
