Farah out for two weeks

FRUSTRATED Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah will give himself a couple of weeks rest but has not ruled out surgery on the protruding discs in his back.
Farah is suffering from protruding L5 and S1 discs in his lower back which is not providing him with any pain but weakening the power in his left leg.
The Tigers chief playmaker has ruled himself out of the next two games and is hopeful the period on the sidelines and consistent rehabilitation will allow him to return to the NRL without resorting to surgery.
"The best option for me at the moment is to have a couple weeks rest," he said.
"Although I obviously feel like I can play I risk doing further damage ... at this stage we decided to take a week or two off and make sure I'm fully fit.
"I have spoken about it with the doctor and surgery is the last option that we can take.
"I'm not looking to do that in the near future."

Farah was put through a tough training session at Concord Oval yesterday but did not pull up well and visited a specialist for the first time in the afternoon.
The 24-year-old confirmed he had spoken to Roosters fullback Anthony Minichiello about how he battled, and continues to struggle with, a similar back injury.
Farah said Minichiello's experience, playing less than 20 NRL games in two seasons with two bouts of surgery, has taught him not to play with any weakness in his back.
"It is pretty concerning to see what he has gone through," said Farah.
"That's why I'm trying to look after it at this point in my career. I don't want it to get to that stage."
Farah had been named at halfback for the Raiders clash on Sunday but his spot is most likely to be taken by former Dragon Mathew Head, who would make his debut for the club.
Coach Tim Sheens will wait until tomorrow before finalising his squad

can only hope that head plays more consistant for you guys than he did us, is prone to injury big time. Very exposed in the defensive line, would love to play against the tigers with head and marshall playing defence on either side of the field.

Have no great hope for Mr.M.Head. Not expecting all that much really. If he can realize his best, it will be a bonus. But not counting on it. Besides, Morris will at 5/8. That being said, the alternative is dire, dire, dire. Between Head or Morris, it's a no-brainer...

A) Unpredictable quality. Could be good, could be ordinary. Injury prone.

B) A punch to the temple.

Finally the club officially spills the beans after i hint at this for 3 years. But hey i wouldn't know.... this is the biggest cover up since Area 51.

Coach shines knows his team and coaching will be further exposed with farah out

Dear me .. they've run him into the ground and f**ked the game's best dummy half

Management of a back complaint comes down to a very fine line.

If the club had forced him to rest when a player like Robbie is at the beginning of a purple patch may have led to him not wanting to renew.

The problem is back complaints are very difficult to manage effectively and in reality even a season out would not have helped as surgery is the only real possible fashion in which to cure it

Seriously have we killed a tribe of chinamen or something
We are blessed with 2 geniuses in Farah and Marshall
One has a f**ked back, the other f**ked shoulders
If they played for brisbane they'd play uninjured until they were 34 and play 341 first grade games each

spot on MOTH. The coaching staff have physically run Farah into the ground out of desperation. The snowball effect might come back to haunt them for a lot longer than they think. With Flanno's contract also up this year they will have to fight tooth and nail to keep him or Lewis Brown. Once a position WT had great depth in, may soon be a dry creek. A bit like the halves problem which has haunted them for so long.

I would not blame Brown for leaving if he did. I am still shocked as I really had hoped this weekend he would play. It is a perfect time to play him but I have gone through the reasons for that adnausium. Anyone who has watched BRET knows the reason.

The management of Marshalls shoulders cost us a spot in the 8 last season. He should have been give the entire season to rehad. With Farah playing and Fulton in the 6 we would have made the finals series IMHO. Carrying Marshall as a defensive passenger lost us 4 games on it's own
