If one was inclined to be cynical, it might be concluded that a decision was made for Morris on $240k approx, very early in the piece. It was going to turn out so awesome, why worry about it. But that's cynical, certainly.

Did WT place a competitive NRL bid? Regardless of whether, or not, he is worth what it would have taken him to sign, did we have the $$$ to obtain him if he was? After blowing millions on dross, and average performers, plus overpaying the first graders, I would suspect not.

After we signed Morris. What a splendiferous coincidence. At near a 1/4Mill, blown on that contract, we would have been much better served going with experiments with juniors, as an interim, until someone (Finch perhaps?) came up. If the team is going to go down in a screaming heap, you might as well give the juniors a run, and see what gets thrown up. Paying overs for Mopeds instead of Ferraris seems to be a habit. And why sign Morris for 3 years, on that much, without so much as a look-see? 3 YEARS.

Bad attitude? What is it with this "bad attitude" in players that get let go, but turn up elsewhere with the applied discipline, or development? Is it always them, and not the approach taken? In any event, compared to what we got out of John Morris, did the 1/4Mill approx retail tag justify the choice?
