i know its along way off and most of you guys probably dont care, but could we be facing the same dilema come june 30 2007 as the dragons are no and have to stand by and watch our fav. eels players potentialy move on, because i believe we will have almost half our squad off contract by then.

At least Burt, Hindmarsh, Cayless and Vella will soon be eligible for the Salary cap exemption for 10 year players.....

Also, as long as teams other than St George and us lose players due to the cap (ie the cheating Bulldogs and salary cap miracle workers, the Roosters) I will be satisfied.

Burt still has a while to go I like it'll be 2010 for him Vella and Cayless and Cayless should be 2007 While Hindy is 2008 or 2009

How does the 10 year exemption work?

Anything to help us keep a good percentage of our team together is a bonus.

i think you can only claim it for one player anyway. a player must have been graded with the club for 10 years and then the club gets an extra 100k they can add to the cap.

Thought it was 1 player but they only have 50% of their salary counted towards the cap

they are also brining in a 100k sponsorship bonus where a 3rd party sponsor can pay a player X amount that doesn't get added to the cap and you can nominate 2 players who's total can be paid 50k each

Not sure if you'll be able to pay 1 player 80k and another 20k tho.
