I was going to give Chan a mention. He showed some toe in the sevens last year or the year before from memory. Scored a try from about 40 out after outrunning a few backs. He also was a centre/winger in his early years.

Yeah, I was going to say Learoyd-Lahrs. Sam Thaiday is pretty quick too.

Either Big League of RLW did a story on fastest forwards and backs last year. Surprisingly, Aaron Cannings beat Vella to be the fastest forward at Parramatta.

Iafeta Paleaesina can absolutely motor for a big unit, he scored a length of the field try in the last sevens tournament. Chan and Vella are both quick too.

Martin Lang just about ran down Rod Wishart in Origin didn't he?

1998 game one 71st minute.
I wouldnt really use that as an example. Wishart was tired, and Lang was coming at him from an angle and was fresh. Still, he showed some toe and the QLD "spirit"

so is Paleaesina over short distances.
Not just over short distances, I've seen him make a 55m break (against Souths '03) and he was absolutely flying when he passed the ball at the end of it.

I saw Ryan O'Hara comfortably run down Brad Fittler in 2001. Mind you, Fittler, although quite a talent, was one of the slowest 5/8 ever to play the game.
