Not who you think were the best footballers, but who you think were the best ' blokes'. Here are mine:

1. MG
2. Steve Waddell
3. Roycie.

Ok `Best Blokes' in my definition would be blokes that have time for their fans and mates and put back into the community.

Definatley Lew Zivanovic like Big Panther Cool suggested before.

The bloke in the wheelchair - for the life of me i cannot remember his name at this very moment. I shall name him when i remember unless someone else beats me it.

Greg `Brandy' Alexander - I havent actually met him but from what i read he gives plenty back to the club and their fans.

Mark `MG' Geyer - He's just an allround down to earth guy. A real gem & easy to talk to.

Scott Sattler - another gem. He was so many peoples strength in many ways.

Craig Gower. - Anybody who would leave the bar in the middle of getting drinks and meet my friends are a `dead-set legend'. :D

Preston Campbell & Joe Galuvao for the many times i have seen them attending fans needs. Preston & Joe i think are inspirational on field and they always lead by example. If Aaron is anything like Preston he will be in the same mould.

Ben Ross - For his patience with Bubblez. He & she are classics.

and lastly Ryan Girdler - The times that i have met him but found myself speechless he makes up with his sense of humour and can break any uncomfortable silence. :p

I am sure there are a hell of a lot more `great' blokes out there that have/and are playing for penrith. But those that i have mentioned i have either met a number of times or constantly read about the good things they do within the community.

Johnny Faragher (sp?)

Works at Panthers, usually on the door. Great guy.

John Farragher. I worked with him for a short time at Panthers in the mid 80's. He is a champion bloke. Horse, I think it might be ' Hoss' Cartright is also a good bloke but defected to the goosters unfortunately.

I've had a beer with a lot of the players socially over the years, but the three I listed were the most down to earth, and fair dinkum blokes.

I've never met Lew Zivanovic, but I know a lot of his mates quite well, and they think the sun shines out of his freckle. That's good enough for me. Not that many people could be wrong. He must be a good bloke.

Fav player of all time, I biggest hit I've ever seen, was against Ben Elias in 88-89, never got to see him play at PFS :(
Brad Izzard

Current fav players:
Joe Galuvao, Shannon Donato

Fav game Penrith vs Norths 99
First time seing Brandy in action at PFS, Kiwi Girdler scored an intercept in the dying seconds to win the game.

Fav Panther fans:
PK, MP, PP/Roo and Rhino

For the comedy factor:
Lainey, cracks me up....pretty kewl chick really.

Brad Izzard still lives and works in the Penrith area. He's a champion bloke, and always stops and has a beer. He was also a great player. Played State of Origin one year. Came off the bench, didn't get much game time, but at least he got there. He's one of the reasons we won the title in 1991.

My favourite players from the old days (for being all round good guys and hard workers), are:----

John Cartwright
Mighty MG
Barry Walker
Col Van Der Voort
Danny Farrar
Brad Drew
Brett Boyd

Out of the current crop of players (for friendliness and time spent with fans), it would have to be:---

Smokin Joe Galavao
Shannon Donato
Preston Campbell
Rhys Wesser
Joel Clinton
Paul Whatuira

Brett Boyd was a character, and absolutely hated a beer. He married one of my mates sisters. I knew him quite well. I think he lives in Queensland now.

Boydy was a top guy to talk to.
He always stopped and chatted with us as if we were good friends.
So did Danny Farrah.

DAMN BUGGER..........How could I forget SID DOMIC ???

He was just the nicest guy you could hope to meet.
Friendly as anything, not up himself at all.

And he LOVED a beer or 10.......or more...
