Favourite guitar Solo?

So, what's your favourite guitar solo? Be it in the middle of a song, or something by someone Like Satch or Steve Vai.

For me, it's Dave Gilmour on Comfortably Numb. Especially the live version on Pulse! It just blows me away.

Oh, Ron you don't need to tell me why Eruption is so much better mate :p

Good call on 'Comfortably Numb'.
All I can think of now is those in the following:
Opeth - A Fair Judgement
Judas Priest - Ram it Down
Metallica - Creeping Death
Gunners - November Rain

The live intro to "Only The Strong" is a favourite of mine. Just how they extend it out for atleast a minute and usually with Rob having a good go on the cymbals, then out of no where..."When I'm locked in my room"..

:D :D :D

It's ok mate, i'll save you the verbal this time ;-) , but yeah the other solos ( apart from Comfortably Numb) in this thread made me laugh out loud.

Comfortably Numb live is deadset amazing, his use of the delay in combination with the whammy bar at the end is just brillant......not only that have you ever heard such a solo which fits so well into the song??...just amazing.

I know. I love Dave Gilmour's work. Especially live as you said.
Makes me wish I'd taken up the guitar

Have to agree with the Gunner's fans. Love Slash's solos. They're by no means amazing, but I love rocking to em :music:

Gilmore cut and pasted all his solo's.

The Church refused to use one of his solo because he didn't play ONE note that wasn't edited.

How did he cut & paste the comfortably numb solo??....it is one of the greatest solos ever ( best live solo imo)

Gilmour is a fantastic musician, very good guitarist.

All of his work is original.

For someone who can't spell his name you know a lot about him. Stop talking shit.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles (feat. Eric Clapton)

Well Alright - Santana

Always On The Run - Lenny Cravitz (feat. Slash) Great riff.

I Feel Fine - The Beatles Greatest riff ever IMO (because it's one of the few things I can play semi-decently on guitar).
