I agree about Bittersweet Symphony. Also 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins - the band goes and plays at like an 18th, and then the party carries on from there (nice hot chick in it helps it too )

In Bloom (I think it was) by Nirvana, where they go on one of those old American variety shows was pretty cool too.
