Mu'a Saints v New Zealand Churr Bros

In the battle of the Polynesian powerhouses tonight there were no real surprises, with Friday Night Football dishing up a lop-sided 22-0 win for the Tongans in front of a rabid home crowd. The Bros, still hurting from the absence of their inspirational coach, look at long odds to make it into this year's finals after a promising run mid season. A dour first half saw Mu'a leading just 2-0 in a scrappy affair, but they turned on overdrive in the second half to power away.

Mu'a: Kane Linnett, Iosia Soliola, and Jarrod Sammut. Norman 5/5
New Zealand: None.
HT Score: 2-0
Dally M: Iosia Soliola (Saints) 3, Michael Jennings (Saints) 2, and Eorl Crabtree (Saints) 1.
Crowd: 23,146

Brisbane Bulls v Roma Vandali

Roma have pulled off the miracle of the season today in a thrilling 26-24 come from behind victory over the first placed Brisbane Bulls. Their new coach has justified his hefty pay check in engineering one of the season's most unexpected results, with a late Johnathon Thurston penalty goal proving the difference. Roma are now 2 for 2 since their introduction into the FFBRL.

Brisbane: Leroy Cudjoe, Anthony Milford, and Alex Glenn. A. Reynolds 6/6
Roma: David Nofoaluma, Joseph Paulo 2, and Darius Boyd. Thurston 5/5
HT Score: 16-6
Dally M: Joseph Paulo (Vandali) 3, Johnathon Thurston (Vandali) 2, and Jason Baitieri (Vandali) 1.
Crowd: 25,343

Raymond Terrace Tanks v Sydney Vipers

Sydney have rebounded from last week's demoralising loss to Brisbane with a commanding 22-6 win in their visit to the Hunter today, the top eight contenders from the state capital reminding their northern neighbours of their place in the pecking order with a confident win on the road.

Raymond Terrace: James Graham. Gidley 1/1
Sydney: Jarrod Mullen 2, Chris Heighington, and Jack Stockwell. Croker 3/4
HT Score: 0-12
Dally M: Jarro Mullen (Vipers) 3, Jack Stockwell (Vipers) 2, and Scott Dureau (Vipers) 1.
Crowd: 15,903

Machu Picchu Llamas v Ipswich Reds

The shock resignation of their coach during the week seems to have instilled some fighting spirit in Ipswich, who today won a see-sawing encounter in South America 36-30. In a game featuring ten tries, it was Rangi Chase sharp-shooting with the boot that proved the difference in an offensively open clash. The win amends Ipswich's free fall down the ladder, while Machu Picchu now languish in last place.

Machu Picchu: Justin Carney, Sam Rapira 2, and Zak Hardaker 2. Lyon 5/6
Ipswich: James Roberts, Vincent Duport, Jason Chan, Jack De Belin, and Adrian Morley. Chase 8/8
HT Score: 18-22
Dally M: Jack De Belin (Reds) 3, Sam Rapira (Llamas) 2, and Jamie Lyon (Llamas) 1.
Crowd: 11,225

New England Celtic v Quahog Quagmires

There wasn't much of a crowd on hand to see it, and New England will be grateful for that after they limped to an unconvincing 18-6 win over visiting Quahog today. Celtic will feel lucky they got the win, with Quahog's abysmal 53% handling all that prevented the Americans from causing an upset.

New England: Beau Scott, Danny Brough, and Josh Dugan. Brough 3/3
Quahog: Manu Vatuvei. Richards 1/1
HT Score: 6-6
Dally M: Danny Brough (Celtic) 3, Mike Cooper (Celtic) 2, and Josh Dugan (Celtic) 1.
Crowd: 8,094

Shenzhen Sharkitohs v South Canberra Knightss

Shenzhen have moved into first place on the ladder following a hard fought 18-4 win over the visiting South Canberra Knights today. The away side weren't able to get across the line, but showed some aggression in defense to keep the high-scoring Sharkitohs to just three tries despite having 55% of the possession.

Shenzhen: David Simmons and Nigel Plum 2. Parker 3/4
South Canberra: None. Mantellato 2/2
HT Score: 12-4
Dally M: Sam McKendry (Sharkitohs) 3, Nigel Plum (Sharkitohs) 2, and Shaun Johnson (Sharkitohs) 1.
Crowd: 19,080

Grapes of Nanking v Multiple Scoregasms

Despite all of the drama surrounding their home at the MCG, the Multiple Scoregasms have today welcomed their new coach with arguably their finest performance of the season. Up against a Grapes of Nanking side pushing hard to secure its place in the finals, the out of form Victorian outfit showed plenty of moxy in twice coming from behind on their way to an impressive 36-20 win over the Chinese side.

Grapes: Dane Gagai, Jamie Soward, and Jake Mamo 2. Soward 2/4
Multiple Scoregasms: Kieran Dixon, Justin Hodges, Jorge Taufua 3, and Dan Sarginson. Cherry-Evans 6/6
HT Score: 14-12
Dally M: Jorge Taufua (Scoregasms) 3, Justin Hodges (Scoregasms) 2, and Daly Cherry-Evans (Scoregasms) 1.
Crowd: 5,836

And waiting with bated (or in the case of lions looking for a dentist named Palmer, baited) breath, for the ticker to type some scores, we all are...
