Ipswich Reds v Roma Vandali

Roma's season remained alive under miraculous circumstances today, with a 79th minute Chris McQueen try seeing them snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in their visit to Ipswich. The Vandali's miracle run looked to be at its end trailing 17-16 in the dying stages, but McQueen's try and the resulting conversion lifted them to a 22-17 win, keeping them alive while effectively ending Ipswich's slim top eight hopes.

Ipswich: Mahe Fonua and Matt Prior. Bosc 3/3. Chase 1/1. Chase 1 fg.
Roma: Paul Gallen 2 and Chris McQueen. Thurston 5/5
HT Score: 8-12
Dally M: Lewis Brown (Vandali) 3, Paul Gallen (Vandali) 2, and David Nofoaluma (Vandali) 1.
Crowd: 15,871

New England Celtic v Raymond Terrace Tanks

New England have found the going tougher than they'd have liked in today's visit from Raymond Terrace, with last week's sound defeat having instilled some grit in the Tanks. A competitive first half saw things in the balance at 12-8, but New England did enough in the second half to secure a narrow 18-8 win.

New England: Morgan Escare 2 and Danny Brough. Brough 3/4
Raymond Terrace: Tom Makinson. Gidley 2/2
HT Score: 12-8
Dally M: Mike Cooper (Celtic) 3, Jake Granville (Celtic) 2, and Gareth Widdop (Celtic) 1.
Crowd: 11,695

Sydney Vipers v Ponte Preta Billy Goats

A new name has done nothing to undermine the former Multiple Scoregasms' impressive recent form, with the recently renamed Ponte Preta Billy Goats producing another impressive performance today to lead Sydney 20-8 at half-time in front of a shellshocked Sydney crowd.

Sydney fought back in a spirited second half to level things up at 26 all with just ten minutes of play remaining, but the Goats found an extra gear to snatch two late tries and secure an upset 38-26 win to keep their top eight hopes alive.

Sydney: David Klemmer, Ben Barba, Nate Myles, and Dan Hunt. Mullen 5/5
Ponte Preta: Justin Hodges, Konrad Hurrell 2, Aaron Woods 2, and Josh Hodgson. Cherry-Evans 7/7
HT Score: 8-20
Dally M: Daly Cherry-Evans (Billy Goats) 3, Aaron Woods (Billy Goats) 2, and Jorge Taufua (Billy Goats) 1.
Crowd: 11,695

Machu Picchu Llamas v Perth Reds

The freshly relocated Perth Reds have exploded into the top eight on the back of a dominant 58-18 win over the Machu Picchu Llamas. A free-flowing first half saw the Western Australian side leading 32-18, and they went on with the job in a one-sided second half to sneak into eighth position and give their new coach a warm welcome.

Machu Picchu: Jamie Lyon, Terry Campese, and Nathan Peats. Lyon 3/3
Perth: Sam Tomkins 2, Simon Mannering, Josh Papalii 2, Matt Cook, Jesse Bromwich 2, Jake Friend, and Shaun Kenny-Dowell 2. Hunt 7/11
HT Score: 18-32
Dally M: Jesse Bromwich (Reds) 3, Josh Papalii (Reds) 2, and Kallum Watkins (Reds) 1.
Crowd: 6,532

South Canberra Knights v Brisbane Bulls

For forty minutes tonight, South Canberra looked on track to engineer an impressive upset and continue Brisbane's winless run. Playing in front of a large and vocal crowd, the Canberra side lead 6-2 after an impressive first half against a decidedly toothless Brisbane side.

A much improved Bulls took to the field in the second half however, and powered home to record a 26-12 win and keep their minor premiership hopes alive.

South Canberra: Tim Mannah and James Tamou. Smith 3/3
Brisbane: Dunamis Lui, Kevin Sinfield, and Adam Reynolds 2. A. Reynolds 5/5
HT Score: 6-2
Dally M: Adam Reynolds (Bulls) 3, Josh Mansour (Bulls) 2, and Alex Johnston (Bulls) 1.
Crowd: 19,193

Quahog Quagmires v Mu'a Saints

A nightmare night with the boot for Michael Dobson and some determination from Quahog has allowed the US side to engineer an upset 14-12 win over the visiting Saints today. Dobson's 0 from 3 effort with the boot meant that, despite outscoring the home side three tries to two, the Tongan powerhouse were shock losers.

Quahog: Jamal Idris and Manu Vatuvei. Gardner 3/3
Mu'a: Peter Fox, Corey Norman, and Andrew Fifita. Dobson 0/3
HT Score: 2-4
Dally M: Jamal Idris (Quagmires) 3, Ben Matulino (Quagmires) 2, and Shannon Boyd (Quagmires) 1.
Crowd: 4,363

Shenzhen Sharkitohs v Grapes of Nanking

In the battle between China's two clubs, the Grapes of Nanking have scored an upset 16-8 win over their more fancied opposition today. A controlled first half laid the foundation for the win, with the Grapes taking a 16-2 lead into the break and doing enough in a dour second stanza to secure a win.

Shenzhen: Blake Austin. Gordon 2/2
Grapes: Kade Snowden and Jason Taimalolo. Soward 4/4
HT Score: 2-16
Dally M: Jason Taimalolo (Grapes) 3, Mose Masoe (Sharkitohs) 2, and Tom Burgess (Grapes) 1.
Crowd: 13,770
