You can take the boy out of the west, but you can't take the west out of the boy.

Don't worry Lewis, Once a westie, Always a westie. be proud. \\:D/

Lainey,

Freddy tries to distance him self as much as he can, but you just have to listen to him speak, or the way he acts. He will never be an Eastern Suburbs boy.

He is still a westie.

It is sad. I don't know what there is to be ashamed of. I would much rather live out here and be apart of this community then live out there where there is no sense of community.

Fibroman has a gut feeling that the rorters are due a bit of bad luck this year. Not that I would wish injuries upon any player, no matter what club he player for, but they have some players that are definately under injury clouds this year. Freddy is suspect. Fitzgibbon is suspect. Hodges has just come back from a serious knee injury, and will be suspect. Morley was lucky last year and may be due for some bad luck this year. Craig Wing has also had a good run with injuries and might be due for some bad luck. If the worst happens, the rorters will be a non event in 2004. Watch the way their fan base disintegrates before your very eyes if they start to struggle. All the yuppies will start to follow the Sydney Swans if the rorters turn it up.

The thing about westies and Panther fans is that they stick by their team through good times and the bad times. Yuppies are more interested in how good they look when they are walking around the streets. A little bit like some of the rorters players. It's all about how the individual looks out on the field rather than being a part of the team. Appearances can be deceiving.

I keep meaning to post this to you Fibro...there is a site called http://geocities.com/bringbackthebiffrugbyleague

It's all about the hard men of league. It's interactive as well so if you had a good story about one of the hard men to tell you can post it up. MG is up there but he hasnt got any stories by fans as yet and was wondering if you might have had a couple to tell and add to it on him or any others.

When MGRULES gets his gear together and comes back online i must tell him about it too. I think he will be in Rugby League Heaven when he trips on to it.

As a 14-15 year old, I can still recall a day out with the boys at Penrith Park, to watch the old chocolate soldiers go around ( and usually get beaten ). The biggest decision I had to make on those outings, was whether to wear my desert boots, my Adidas Romes or my ugg boots. The rest of the outfit was pretty much stock standard: blue singlet underneath a flanno, Levis jeans ( minus the tag ), and the stock standard brown and white beanie with the pom pom ripped off.

I felt like a million bucks. I bet those yuppies from the eastern suburbs haven't got memories like that.

to funny that you would admit that! what about a ciggy hanging from your mouth...or did you leave those behind at the caravan park?

Fibroman didn't smoke. Never has.....never will. I do consume more than a fair share of grog though. And not like you yuppies who sip an alcoholic drink because you like the taste of it, I guzzle my beer for the effect as well as the taste. Mmmmmmmmm.....Tooheys Extra Dry.

I don't know why, but a lot of Panther fans seem to have a dislike for Parramatta. I know there has always been a sense of additional rivalry at the ' local derby ', but us westies have to stick together. I've always had a soft spot for the teams that come from ' working class areas '. They include Wests, Newcastle and Parramatta.

I can't wait till next season, when I get a bunch of my mates, and put our best flannos on with beanies and desert boots and go and hit the pub circuit following the Roosters and Manly games.

I've got plenty of spares. I've also got heaps of thongs that I have to get rid of, now that yuppies have started to wear them, I am going to stop wearing them.
