Just caught the end of the conversation on NRL 360 about Fifitas latest comments that he has no regrets over the FKL thing. The 2 journals and Ikin/Kent were blowing up saying again that he was the biggest clown in the game and should be rubbed out etc. I haven't read the Fifita article. Is there much in it?

He pretty much said that he doesnt regret helping an old mate that was doing it tough. And that the integrity unit know the whole story and understood what was happening. He doesnt really elaborate on any more detail other than that from what i have seen.

Last time I checked, rehabilitation is more effective when supported by close friends and family. Rehabilitation is still an objective of the corrections process, isn't it? And Fifita is a close mate of Kieran Loveridge, isn't he?

Journos jumping up and down about Fifita's message rubbing the memory of tragic events in the face of Thomas Kelly's family, yet having no qualms in squeezing as much milage as possible out of this story themselves. Are they personally connected in any way, or just cashing in?

Fifita would have been wiser to be more sensitive to the issue, but his message was one of supporting a friend, not the friend's crime. Certainly wasn't directed towards the Kelly family in any way. NSW Police issuing a consorting notice is completely inappropriate aka bullshit. Exactly like the govt response to the 'plague' of violence.

My deepest sympathies are still to Thomas Kelly and family, but ethically I'm 100% against witch-hunting.

I f**king stupid is he to comment on it though? Why doesn't he just say "I have put that issue behind me and have no further comment".

I have no problem with what he did but he's already been convicted in the court of public opinion and that's all that matters to the powers that be. He'll probably cop a $20,000 fine (perhaps donated to some charity) and miss the Kangaroo tour.
